This is a Bruel& Kjaer Precision Sound Level Meter Type 2203. The unit itself is a 9.5/10. Battery compartment is pristine with no battery leakage. Tested with new batteries and is functioning. Needle moves, backlight comes on. Manual included. Also included is the Sound Level Calibrator Type 4230. 10/10 The leather case has no signs of wear. Manual included. Also included is the Condenser Microphone Cartridge Type 4145. This is enclosed in a wooden box and is rated at 10/10. The Calibration Chart and Manual is included as well. The"nose piece" threads on smoothly with no issues. This part has slight pitting at the bottom otherwise pristine. Rated 8/10. Three plug inserts along with two screwdrivers are also included. Fantastic university surplus B&K collection of sound measuring devices with factory carry case and many manuals.When we acquired it the original foam rubber padding inserts were completely disintegrated so we removed them and cleaned the wooden boxes and parts as required. Batteries(not included) were placed in the 2203 unit and needle moved with battery check and light flashes but we have no way to test further and assume unit will need calibration before being put back into service. Rubber foot pads on bottom of artificial ear are spongy and may need replaced.No physical damage noticed other parts but nothing has been fully tested so everything is listed AS IS in the parts or repair category.
