It turns on(fan is running) and Red LED lights on front panel light and go off(boot up sequence) but screen was dark. I now use PC based gear. But can remember when this unit(weighs 80 lbs! cost far in excess of $20,000 new. It'd be a shame to trash it when the parts alone(e.g, one B&K mike mount) is going to cost you what this entire purchase will. B&K replacement parts are NOT CHEAP, and I see there are two other 2032's on auction now. I f you buying one of those units. You should also consider purchasing this as a back up in the event the working one has a failure like 20 year old machines are prone to doing. This has been in storage for many years. This is a Bruel& Kjaer 2144 Dual Channel Real-Time Analyzer. The 2144 has serial number 2023615 and has the final boot-rom V1.33. The 2144 was the flagship B&K analyzer and sold for over $18.600 in 1998. This unit comes with the ZN 0621 dual-channel 7-pin B&K input and ZG 0342 power supply. Used Bruel& Kjaer 5935 dual-channel power supply and conditioning amplifier for microphone preamplifiers. Includes operators manual on CD. Used but in good shape. Some decal wear around the power switch and channel 1 attenuator. I inserted 3"D" batteries into the internal battery holder and the item powers up. With my limited test equipment I tested the item out. Both 10 dB step attenuators work and appear accurate. The unit is capable of the spec'ed output level with distortion at 1Khz of way less than 1% Overload lights appear operational. 24 Volt supply is available at the front connector pins. Rear outputs functional. The best I can tell the item is fine and works. But it is being sold as is.
