Genrad Model 1988 Type 1 Sound Level Meter Octive Filter with Calibrator
I acquired this Type one meter from Thompson Audiology in Yakima Washington and it had been very well maintained but Jim has retired now and the new owners of the business told me that they were now using a Type 2 Quest 215 meter without a filter to do background noise studies prior to testing. This is a common misconception only a type one meter should be used to check an area before industrial hearing testing. This unit has a built in Octave Filter and has 200 Volt polarization required for some Microphones. The micro phone pictured is not polarized but is flat out to 19K hz.The calibrator included works but needs to be rewired to common 9 Volt battery. This is an integrating SLM with noise exposure feature with noise versus time exposure. Feel free to ask any questions about this meter.

Up for auction is a" General Radio(GR) Type 1933 Sound Level Meter(Non-Operational) Manuals and Case The General Radio 1933 Sound Level Meter for performing precision sound level measurements and octave band analysis. Included with the meter is the original instruction manual which includes service and maintenance information. Unfortunately. The meter is not operational. New batteries were installed and a battery check showed a small needle deflection but not Full Scale as expected. Battery contacts were found in good condition except for one which was cleaned but remains pitted. The sound level meter is in great cosmetic condition. Also included is the the original GR 1933 carrying case. The case exterior shows some signs of wear but the case interior is in great condition.
