Vintage Blacksmith post vise vice tool
We have a nice used Blacksmith post vise for sale. This vise has an original small coil spring to open it. Which works well, however it has no mounting bracket. The vise opens 4 inches with 3 1/4 inch jaws. You can see by the pictures the screw is in good condition and the jaws are solid. It works very well and has no cracks or welds on it. The vice weighs 35 pounds and would work well in a shop or be perfect to take to hammer ins. Please email any questions and see our other listings. I found all of this stuff together in the little dovetailed wooden box pictured. You will get the wooden box measuring 6" x 4.5" x 4" ALL of the following: Multiple early broken wire spectacle frames& lenses including one marked Stevens Co. This one may be gold filled or gold plated. The others appear to be brass or metal. They are all dirty& worn& broken. But you may be able to do something with them. You will also get the metal pin vise which is intact& functional, multiple metal bits of various sizes, a pack of unused Herkules saws No. 4/0 made in Germany, and finally a very old pair of tweezers. I looked all over the internet and can't find any info about this vise. No where. I got it from a guy in New York. Who told me it was from 1916. It was pass down from three or four generation. Grandfather, father, son and then me. I got a chance to clean it up and grease it. I was gonna paint it but then decided to just keep it original. This auction is for a used but in good condition Stanley no. 992A machinist/ drill press vise. not including handle the body measures 5 1/2" x 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" Jaws are 2 1/2" wide about 1 1/2" deep. Jaws open to 2 3/8" and do close tight. There are original 1/8" thick plates screwed to each jaw that I assume if removed would give you an additional 1/4" opening. besides the expected dings the vise is in good condition. Jaws appear to be in mint(almost unused) condition and probably were always covered with wood faces. All functions very well. Paint is all original with some normal vintage stains/chips, but should last forever. This massive vice features jaws that are 10 Inchs X 4 Inchs with a Max Opening of 12 Inches. Hi This is a very handy old vintage Stanley made jewelry style anvil type vise with no reserve! This vise is in great shape overall with minor paint missing and could use a little oil on the crank.
