This is a nice clean horizontal& vertical 5C collet indexer. The label says"NEWS& Yamato Koki" NEWS was the importer of Yuasa tools before Yuasa International started importing directly. Yamato Koki is one of the 5 Japanese companies that manufacture Yuasa Tools. This unit is in very good operating condition. The spindle nose is very good. There is one small spot on the threads that looks like it was hit with a grinding wheel(see picture) The inside of the spindle nose is perfect. Both the horizontal and vertical mounting faces are nice with only light scratching. The unit grips very well and releases nicely.The unit has been thoroughly cleaned. Lubticated and repainted. It ran on the machine for about 6 months in 2008. I have verified that it still works. There are some marks around the keyway where our tooling was attached. Otherwise. The unit is in good condition.

The plunger has a plastic insert on the end to avoid damage to machine. This was a great tool for us when we only had vertical cnc machines and production jobs. The standard t handle is missing. The unit indexes at 15 degree full stroke and 5 degree partial stroke. Unit works. Has not been used in 10 plus years. 8 inch 3 jaw chuck with reversable jaws. It is missing the large dial that goes on the shaft behind the handle. It has a broken casting on the part where the pinion gear is engaged. shown sitting on top of table) It can not be used with this broken. This is a Hardinge bench center. The base and either center can also be used with a Hardinge 5C indexer. The 4" centerline height of this unit matches the indexers. Unit is nice and clean except for the underside of the base which has some pitting- see picture. One center is spring loaded and the other is screw adjustable. Both can be locked.
