I have not tried to"spruce up" the wood or metal and left as found. The pictures should speak for themselves in that regard. Both pieces are complete and in working order. They have the company metal tags with Boston and Lockport name and star in the center of one side of the block. The hemp rope is in very good conditon and has a metal ring affixed to one end. Orignal Printers Wooden Type Block Set Letterpress Print TRAY / BOX / DRAWER j11
A nice original Printers Set Tray that would be superb for displaying items.Trinkets, nick nacks etc and measures 14 1/2" x 32 1/2" my ref J11) The back of the tray is made from wood. The depth of the compartments are 25mm and the tray is divided into three sections and the largest compartment measures 140mm x 60mm whilst the smallest is 27mm x 42mm. Originally paper was placed on the base but after 100 years it is now tatty so I would think best to remove. There is some damage on the top of about 6 dividers and through wear or being knocked they are a wee bit shorter than they were when they started life over 100 years ago. The tray that is shown in the photo is the actual one that you will receive and it won`t be one taken randomley from stock. All of the Trays that I sell are packed with Pride. He also describes a number of guitar techniques and concepts which have informed his banjo playing, such as working within boxes, or blocks of frets, and learning to visualize and play scales and patterns both vertically and horizontally.
