Up for bid is a nice vintage Wilton Swivel Bullet vise#350. The vise is in original condition and works beautifully. The date of manufacture is 8/76 as shown on the slide. The paint is original. The vise was purchased new by a wholesale hardware company and I purchased it from them in a liquidation sale in 1981 and it has been on my bench since then. The lettering on the side of the vise reads"Made in USA. Schiller Park, ILL 60178" Please note that the original decal is in place and intact. The vise is in excellent working condition and has the normal amount of nicks, scratches, etc. The teeth are in very good condition. The vise weighs 39 pounds and I will ship it in a custom made OSB(oriented strand board) box(approximately 10 additional pounds) with the vise bolted down to the bottom. Good used condition. I partially disassembled the vise to clean. Lubricate and inspect it. The inside of the vise was very clean and lubed when I first took it apart as shown in the second photo. The vise is completely reassembled and lubricated. The top of the vise has tool marks from normal use on the anvil and on the outside of the jaws. The jaws, screws and all moving parts are in very good condition. Much of the paint is worn off from normal use. The swivel base rotates continuously without any stops. There are two hold down clamps on the swivel base and 3 mounting holes. The vise weighs 25-3/4 lbs net weight. This is a very heavy duty vise that should virtually last forever. No owners markings. Here is a really nice Wilton No. 835 machinist bullet vise. I was lucky enough to pick up two of these at an estae sale. I went throught both of them and I'll keep one and sell the other. I pretty much stripped it bare metal, pimed and painted with rustoleum machinist gray(a couple of photos make it look a little blue, but it is gray) I re-lubed and here you go. I have now upgraded all of my vises in my little hobby shop to Wiltons and I wouldn't trade them for any other brand I know of. I've had cheap imports and OK US made ones but these are a pleasure to use. According to a date on the dovetail slide it looks like this was manufactured in 1961.it apparently has had light use as there are no chisel marks or hacksaw cuts. The jaws are good useable ones and of course they are replaceable. WILTON TOOL CORP VISE No3 Bullet Bench 3" Jaws Chicago, ILL
This is a WILTON"TOOL CORP" so you know it's old! Bullet Bench(Machinist) Vise with 3" actually closer to 2.75" Jaws, made at the Chicago, ILL USA plant, so it could be late 1940's. There is a small tweak to the vise that does not allow the jaws to come together perfectly. It could be I assembled the jaws opposite? Not sure. But I used all the original fasteners. The vise is also missing the end dust cap and has no swivel base. The previous owner did some grinding/filing on the key itself, so I have no solid date to offer you. Just a few words of how I refurbished the vise. Gave it a bath in solvent. Then very hot water. Dried it with compressed air. Then, glass beaded every piece of it right down to bare metal. Polished up the bare machined surfaces. And taped them off. Shot the casting with Rustolium Hammered ... moreLight Blue. Greased all moving parts. And removing the excess lube. Did it- so you don't have to. This vise will most likely be around for your grandkids! I do not issue refunds or accept returns. Vintage Wilton Vice. Marked Wilton Vice No 3, Chicago USA. 3" wide jaws, opens to 4 1/4" safely, maybe a little more. Marked 12-46 on bottom of square key. Front jaw is real nice, rear jaw is OK, swivel base. It does have a two chips out of cast iron directly under the rear jaw, see pencil pointing at chips, both sides are the same, same size chip and everything. Doesn't hurt the function, but they are there. The vice was cleaned and painted hammered finish green, the vice opens and closes super nice, swivels real nice, and jaws line up good. A really nice vice, even though there are a few chips missing, don't sell it short.

The other side shows Wilton vise No. 3 Pat Pend Made in USA. It has been repainted and cleaned up. End cap is dent free. New Carriage bolts and Acorns. Vintage Wilton Machinist Bench Vise 3.5 Jaws Pipe Clamps Anvil Swivel Base
Hello there! I have a vintage Wilton mechanics triple duty bench vise with swivel base for sale. This vise is in wonderful condition and has years and years of life left in it. It has 3" removable jaws that will open to just about 5" This vise sits on a 4 point swivel base and has pipe clamps built in. It also features a small anvil. On the female half of the vise the numbers and letters" 111099 2UX" and on the male half"111098 3UX" are printed. This vise weighs in at 17 lbs. and sits a hair over 6" tall and about 10.5" long when closed. All the mechanical parts work smoothly and their are very few dings. Vintage YORK WILTON Type Machinist Bullet Vise Swivel Base 3" Jaws
Up for auction is a rare York Wilton Bullet type vise. The vise is marked York on one side and has a patent 685893 on the other with some wording which I can not make out but some of the letter I believe are zakchem anemo but not sure(see pictures) The vise head is a approx. 3 inches wide and opens up to 3 inches. The vise does have some scrapes and some rust spots to it but is in solid working condition. It can be restored to new condition or left the way it was found. The garage gazette has some interesting comments. Where one person wrote" This bench vices started to produce in Czech republic and patent is from 1934( Mr. Dohnal) According to some people they think York was the company that actually came up with the bullet vise and that Wilton might have copied them. There are all types of speculation as to where this vise was made ... moreor came from since there is no history or information. Maybe someone out there might know something and any comment would be appreciated. Thats a pretty general statement. But it's also the reality of our sad Walmart priced/disposable society. Except for a scant few like Yost, the vises being manufacturer today are 99% Chinese made. Pot metal junk) Even the once mighty Wilton has ruined their reputation with Chinese sourced pot metal vises sold at Lowes. Its NOT a Wilton- at least not the ones you remember. I have pics of"new" Wiltons broken in half after a few uses. Even their pro line is nowhere ... moreclose to ones made in the 70's back. A quick google search will uncover DOZENS of"new" Wilton bullet vises with mounting feet broken off. The quality of the metal isn't there any more. As a mechanic my world revolves around impact wrenches and bench vises- This is a beautiful little vise. Jaws are 3" opens to 5" and it has both a swivel base and anvil back. It was found in a workshop that had been closed since the late 70's. It looks like it never saw much use. Add a new coat of paint or put it to work as is. I haven't cleaned or painted the vise- sweat equity" keeps the prices low. The jaws are nice and tight and in excellent shape. Almost perfect faces on each with no serious scars or damage. This would be a great vise for the bench downstairs or out in the garage. HUGE vises are great too. But NOT FOR EVERY JOB. Large vises 5" jaws and larger are actually cumbersome to use on small items. NOTE.Im pretty leniant with grading on used vises. Folks. This listing is for a used Wilton swivel base utility bench vise. It has 3 ½” jaws with a built in pipe grip. It has a maximum opening of 3” it is clean and it is in very good lightly used condition retaining most of its original red paint finish. Vise functions very well, it has no cracks or repairs and jaws are in good condition. Vise weighs approx. 9 pounds, is 4 ½” wide, 8 ¾” long and 5 ¾” high. Base measures 4 ½” x 4 ½” with 4 mounting holes. This is a nice bench vise for a variety of home or work uses. Wilton Vise No. 643 1/2 Swivel Base 3 1/2" Pipe Jaws 16lb Heavy Duty Anvil Vise
You are bidding on a vintage WILTON Vise. Both sides are embossed WILTON. One side is embossed Schiller Park ILL. USA below Wilton. This side also has an embossed number which appears to read(B or 8? 643 1/2. I believe this is the model number but I am not positive. It has a small anvil end. It has an approx. 2 1/2" by 2 3/4" flat next to the anvil end. It has approx. 3 1/2" wide jaws. The jaws close tight but seem a little offset. There are pipe jaws as well. It has an approx. 6 1/2" handle. It opens approx. 4 1/2" The swivel base measures approx. 5" by 5" Closed measurements are approx. 10 1/4" long by 5 1/4" wide by 6 1/4" tall. The jaws open and close with one finger ease. This vise weighs approx. 16 pounds. It appears to be a heavy duty well made vise. This vise is in used as found condition ... moreso it should benefit from a good cleaning and/or oiling. Pictures are an integral part of my description.
