Restored Reed No. 103 Bench Vise VINTAGE W/ NO RESERVE!!!
You are bidding on a nice vintage Reed No. 103 bench vise. This is definitely one of the old boys. I'm gonna guess this guy was manufactured before WWII going by the shape of the lead screw knob as well as the peened handle and jaw shape. I completely stripped it down to bare metal. Prepped it before priming it with PPG epoxy primer as well as a smoke gray RM automotive base coat. It works as good as it looks. The rear portion of the slide has one drill hole(not by me) as well as some grinder gouges, but absolutely no cracks or previous weld repairs. I will get this to you as soon as soon as is humanly possible. Ebay has put some strict rules and penalties on us small time sellers if the item isn't shipped the same day the funds are sent. Well. That's not going to happen in my world. I work about 60 hours a week and also take ... morecare of my 2 year old son while my wife works. Time isn't exactly a commodity in my world. Vintage Reed No 31 3 1/2" Vise 1912 1914 Used
For sale(1) Reed no 31 vise. 3 1/2" jaws. Moves freely. Says"Pat Dec 24 1912 Pat Aug 11 1914 Reed Mfg Co Erie Pa USA" with"31" on opposite side. Weighs approx. 35 lbs. HEAVY and solid. Handle has slight bend. I believe this used to be on a base with a large wingnut under the bench to adjust the swivel(bottom is threaded) but there was only a machine bolt and a home fab washer when I removed it. Vintage Reed Mfg pipe vise. Seems to have model 70 on it. From Reed Mfg Company, Erie, PA. Unit is 11 inches tall, 8 inches wide… jaws are 2 1/2 inches wide. It has a three hole plate to mount to workbench. There might be a bolt missing on side where lever opens to insert pipe…don't know if one is even supposed to be there. The main pipe used to tighten the vise has no bends in it.

HUGE VINTAGE REED MACHINIST VISE 105 1/2 with 5 1/2" jaws 101lbs opens to 9"
This vintage Reed Mfg. No. 105 1/2 Machinist or Blacksmith vise operates smoothly. It opens and closes as it should. The vise is very heavy and weighs right at 102 pounds according to my scale. The Jaws are 5 1/2 inches wide and I opened them to 9 inches but they still could be opened up a bit more. I could not find much on this model number. The handle that is on the vise is not the original I don't think but I am not sure. The ends of the handle were taped when I acquired the vise. This would make a nice addition to someones collection and it should clean up very nicely. Shipping is calculated at a weight of 105 pounds boxed up to your specific location. Raised letters are painted red. The main part is stamped with 936 and the jaw is also stamped 936; possibly meaning manufactured September 1936. Vise is in good working condition and has no major defects. The jaws open 9 1/4 inches. The total length of the vise closed is 19" the clamp is 4 1/2" wide. The jaws have nice checkering hatch pattern, but there is some scaring on the sides of the jaws from sawing. There are small nicks and dings as can be seen in the pictures. The screw and nut are in nice shape, the vise has very little backlash. The swivel base loosens and turns nicely. There are no breaks. Cracks, or repairs. No welds. It is 14" long. 8 1/2" wide, 8 1/4" high. I think 5 1/2" would be the max this vise could clamp. Weighs 38 1/2 lbs. This is a well used but functional vise. Bench mount so no swivel. One ear has been repaired a long time ago. It is a perfect old tool. Lots of patina and functional.

This is a No 2 pipe vise but there is no manufacturer on it anywhere. It is rusty and I have sprayed it with oil and got the screw loosened up but it still needs to be taken apart and cleaned up some more to turn freely and easily.

This is a very large bench vise. It weighs 70 pounds. The jaws are 4 1/2 inches wide. Condition; The jaws are in very nice shape and line up perfectly. Everything works as it should. Swivels 360 degrees. There is no slop in the movement and it responds instantly when the handle is turned. It isn't cracked and hasn't been repaired by welding. Reed model 204 1/2. RARE. REED NO. 214-1/2 SWIVEL BASE VISE. I found this at a sale in Bellingham. Massachusetts. I wacked it with a hammer and freed up the swivel and slide from the built up rust. Once I had done that the swivel and slide worked tight but fine(no binding up or locking) You are buying the vise as it shown and described. I did not attempt to clean or restore. My research on the internet tells me that this is a simple easy restore to pristine condition. A wire brush. WD-40, Coarse Steel Wool, Paint and Lube Grease and you are in business. It is missing the handle which can be easily replaced(I have a high strength Tire Iron that can be cut to length and used to replace the handle or you can make one yourself. Vintage, Primitive Reed Bench Vise, made in USA, 4 inch wide jaws
Up for bid is an antique/primitive Reed model 104 bench vise. I found this vise at an old farm house estate sale. I realized I have too many of these and now looking for a new owner where it can be used. The vise is approx. 17” long, 8 1/2” high and the jaws width are 4” wide. Vise opens to a full 9" It is a forged iron machinist vise(the best) This vise is very nice and in great condition. It shows no damage(cracks. Chips, weak areas or mechanical issues) It is a 55lb. beast and that excludes any packaging to protect the monster! a 100 year old master tool waiting for the proper owner. It has paint and surface patina with very little pitting. It glides smoothly and probably will for another 100 years unlike the junk they sell now.
