6" Machine Vise Kurt Type With Handle Machinist Drill Press Mill Lathe
Up for your consideration is a 6" Kurt Type" machine vise with a handle. The tag is missing. So I cannot be sure of the maker(it could be a Kurt) It opens to 5 1/2" has scratches, drill marks, and residue. It opens and closes smoothly. The jaws close tight, but don't line up on the outside edges perfectly. Please ask any questions you might have. Make sure to look at the other tools that I currently have listed. I mainly use Fed Ex even though the calculator shows it as UPS. The price will remain the same. I get far better service from them than UPS.

REFINISHED: Vintage Craftsman Tilting Drill Press Vise Machinist Mill 2 Axis
This Craftsman Drill Press vise has 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" hard steel jaws which open to a distance of 2 1/2" The vise weighs in at just under 9 1/2 Lbs. which is beefy for a vise this size. Completely closed the vise is 9" Long. It stands 3 1/2" tall and is 4" wide. It is definitely well made. Everything works wonderfully smooth on it. No issues at all. There is one battle scar on it when somebody's drill bit went a tad to far. You can see this in the very last photo of the gallery. The fact that a vise this age has only one hole in it is pretty much amazing in my book. This vise came from Craftsman's Crown Logo era which screams out the 1970's to me. The decal was trashed along with the paint so it came off too. The word Craftsman is stamped into the side however. Although in terrific physical condition ... morethis vise was dirty and the paint was wasted from decades of being in a shop environment. It needed a complete makeover with nothing spared. That's what it received too. I stripped it down. Chased all the threads, both female and male, with taps& dies. I left most of it bare because of the nature of the work these kinds of vises see however the base was sprayed with satin black enamel which was baked on and should hold up decently well. All of the machined surfaces were given extra attention to make sure they're precisely smooth and perfectly fitting. The jaws are in outstanding condition showing only very light signs of use. All of this shows when you go to use this vise, you'll never regret having it I promise. I sincerely hope you enjoy using this beautiful vise.
