Browne & Sharpe Magnetic Block w/ Mahogany case 5 1/4" 2 7/16" x 2 7/16" Look
Nice Brown& Sharpe Magnetic Block in pretty good shape. The magnet is still strong. In the last couple pics it's holding up a punch grinding fixture(not included, neither is the scale) Tool has 2 holes on the upper part of the sides and back for attaching rails. Not sure if the holes are tapped or not. Block does have some dents and dings but nothing excessive. Kiss the top and bottom rails on a surface grinder and your in business. Another thing to note is that the on/off switch travels freely in both directions. There isn't a stopped position, I don't know if thats how they're supposed to be or not so I figured I'd pass it on. Does not effect turning the magnet on and off. You can feel the magnet release. Block is 5 1/4" long by roughly 2 7/16" square. The smaller set(actual dimensions 1.765" x.860" x 2.877" are imported from Japan and besides some shop wear. Are in good shape. The are in their original wood box. The second set(actual dimensions 1.890" x.916" x 4.070" are also imported, my guess is China. Also in good working order. It does not appear to have had much use and looks to be in nice condition.

I am a retired tool and die maker with 35 years experience and made this V-Block for my own personal use. The magnetic transfer V-block is made of bearing bronze with steel pins pressed in it. The block measures 3.922 long x 2.993 wide x 1.983 tall. The V width is approximately 2-5/8" wide x 1-5/16 deep. There 158 steel pins.150 in diameter pressed in the block. The more pins you have the better small pieces of tooling will stick to the V- block. This block is not magnetic by itself and must be used with a magnetic chuck to transfer magnetism. The advantage of steel pins instead of plates is that this V-block will hold a piece of steel tooling in any direction on a magnetic chuck. This vintage pulley/block and tackle was made by Crosby and is Model 3GB or C3E(hard to read engraving on hook along with the number 3) Engraved on the pulley is an“H” and“H4? The hook. Bolt screw are metal but the pulley and wheel are a cast material(could be aluminum) that is non-magnetic. It is 7 ½ inches tall and 2 inches wide at the pulley and 3 ¼ inches at the hook.
