Here is a very heavy duty mechanical winch. This is a military winch probably from a military wrecker. I had this on a boom truck and bought a crane. So I scrapped the old truck out. This winch works great and served me well. I don't know about capacity but I would guess 25 tons plus would not be overstating it. There is approximately 150-200 feet of cable on it which I replaced with new about 5 years ago. There is a sproket on the input shaft and I had it driven thru the PTO from the transmission. It has a lever to allow you to free wheel the winch to manually pull the cable off. I can load it on your truck or trailer for free or if you need it shipped I can band it to a pallet and deliver it to a depot for extra cost. If you pay for it, it would be OK to leave it here for a while until you have time to come and get it. I built this winch because. I am getting to old to carry logs thru the forest jungle, now I can winch them right to my trailer, cut'em up and stack'em on the trailer, it has a brand new Honda 20 hp engine and 300' new of ⅜ wire rope, engine hr meter has about 3 hours on it. It has an ectro magnetic engagement- disengagement clutch, and an adjustable slip clutch, for when the logs hit immovable objects such as stumps, trees or what ever. With choke chains I have pulled as many as 4 trees at once with it, it will pull about as much as a ¾ ton dodge can handle. The really fun part is, don't limb the trees till you get them winched out, as most, sometimes all of the limbs are broke off to 3-6 inches, makes limbing a joy. Has a 6 gallon gas tank, I used it to cut 10 cords and only used ½ a tank. The only reason I am selling ... moreit is because I am a retired farmer and I enjoy building things, if I sell it, I will build another, or perhaps several more if there is demand for them. It was quite expensive to guid, the engine alone with muffler and fuel system was nearly $2,000. It pulls logs about the speed a person would walk, it's a lot of fun cutting wood with this winch.
