Large Antique Wooden Metal Cast Iron Double Barn Hay Pulley Myers Primitive Barn
Love the item but not the price? Contact me with your best offer. Old Rustic Wood and Iron Double Pulley. This pulley is big. Heavy and full of rustic, industrial charm. The iron parts of this beautiful pulley have a complete rusty patina. The wood shows signs of heavy weathering and wear. The dark weathered staining, lighter color chips and cracked side show the incredible history of this piece. This pulley does show heavy wear as evident in the pictures. There is a metal name plate on one side of the pulley. But it is two rusty to read. The other side of the pulley does have a very deep crack which is pictured. This pulley is a fantastic decor piece. It will add a bit of drama to an industrial theme and would be quite at home in a country or cabin setting. 9 volt battery used to show scale. Battery not included: Pulley measures 19 inches ... morelong from the end of the hook to the ring. The wood is approximately 5 3/4" across the pulley wheels and 5 1/2" deep. Weighs almost 14 pounds. I soaked it in kerosene a couple of days to remove grease and mud dauber nests. The surface rust is beginning to rub off after that soaking. Pulley is all original. Antique 3 FT. double-pulley Block & Tackle Solid Oak Wood Cast Metal Ships Farm
This is an amazing set of double pulleys made of oak. Cast metal and brass. The total length of both pieces is 3 feet! These weigh a total of 21.5 pounds! It appears that the pulleys are brass, but they are covered with tarnish, so I am not positive. The rest appears to be heavy cast metal. The wood on the larger piece measures 8 1/8" x 5 1/4" x 1 1/8" deep. The smaller wood measures 7" x 4 1/2" x 1" The smaller hook is 6 1/2" long, the larger one is 7 1/4" long. As you can see in the picture, the two are held together by a thin piece of wire; obviously, this was not part of the original equipment. Overall a beautiful pair of pulleys! This is an incredible huge Antique Wood Screw Vise Clamp and an Antique Block& Tackle Double Pulley with Large Cast(Wrought) Iron Hook. The two items were found separately. Not a set, but together they are an amazing combination with fabulous natural patina infused with natural, organic character that comes from hand use and the passage of time. The wood screw alone is 17 1/2" long and a piece of art in an of itself. The whole vise ensemble is 29 1/2" long and appears to be quite old as it has wooden pegs and the nails in the bottom clamping section appear to be hand made flat head iron. There is some minor thread damage as you might expect but it still functions although the cross rod is gone. This was found in an old colonial barn in Connecticut. And you can guess the age by looking at the photos as I don't know. It probably ... morehas a specific usage as there is a raised structure toward the middle rear(partly broken off) that is held in place by pegs. Block& Tackle Double Pulley has wood sides. Description: For sale is an Antique SOLID METAL Nautical Double Block& Tackle System with Original Cork Floats and Hemp Rope. I’ve sold MANY Block& Tackle before but they were usually Primitive Farm Tools and were constructed of Wood/Metal. This one though is Pure Nautical with the Cork Floats still attached with the Original Hemp Rope. As for its age. The only claim I make with 100% Certainty is that it dates Pre-1960. It measures 21” Long and weighs 2.4 Pounds. The Block/Tackle Portion alone measures 7 ½” Long and accounts for most of the weight of course. I do not like the way the Block& Tackle Pulley System is currently tied to the rope and I would like to see it hanging completely straight down. But. This is how I discovered the piece so I left it in its original condition. I suggest that if purchased(especially for decorative purposes) That you have the Pulley System hang straight down as shown in Photo#2. Condition: On a scale of 1– 10(Ten being MINT/New in Package) I can confidently grade this item’s condition to be a solid 8. This is a very old Madesco Products Wooden(with metal parts) double pulley(Block and tackle type) that is in good shape. I found this in a barn pick in rural southern Indiana.
