The pulley was used and has some worn areas from the rope use. The hook is very large compared to most pulleys. It adds considerable weight to the pulley. There are a few cracks in the wood. It is not likely to come apart any time soon. The pulley was made from maple wood and has cast iron wheels. The rope grooves in the cast iron wheels is 3/4" wide. The pulley and hook are 16 3/4" tall. 4 1/2" wide and 4 3/8" thick. The pulley wheels are 3 1/2" in diameter. Old Double Pulley-Mounted in-line Paralell Industrial Style Pulley- Iron / Steel
Offered for Auction: Old Iron or Steel Mounted Diamond Shaped Double Pulley. The wheels are mounted parallel to the mounting plate and spin freely. I am uncertain whether the pulley is made of Steel or Iron or a combination of both. The mounting plate was japanned(black enamel or lacquer finish) and that finish is worn. I have not cleaned the pulley and it is covered in oil and grime. I cannot find a manufacturer's mark. Condition: Good considering its age and use. The surface is completely coated with old oil or grease and dirt. There are surface scratches dings and dents from use and general surface rust. The mounting plate has rust with pitting on the backside where the finish has worn off. The pulley measures overall 7 3/8" L x 3 1/4" W x 2 1/8" H. McKISSICK 6 IN. NO. 612 Bronze Bushed 10 TON SNATCH BLOCK DOUBLE PULLEY
This is a McKISSICK 6 In. No. 612 Bronze Bushed 10 Ton Snatch Block with Double Pulley. I don't know how old it may be it has little dark green paint on it and mostly showing rust. The clevises are tight but I think they will loosen up. I plan on turning them to get it in a flat rate box for shipping. And the pulleys do turn freely and if you look in the last picture you can see there is still paint in the pulley so that shows there has never been a cable put through it. Here's a good old cast iron pulley wheel. Recently off of a Nebraska farm. Very large and striking at 15 1/2" wide. Not sure of the original purpose but will look great as a re-purpose. The double is wood and steel. The single is all steel. Attached by a long rope. The rope is not replacement. But an aged rope that was used with this set when it was still functional for work.
