It will need a tune up prior to putting it to work. It has been stored inside and occasionally used over the past 20 years. As you can see from the photos, there have been some upgrades done to the machine. The photos of me welding with it were taken on February 5, 2014 and are current. It welds good. just as all the old Short Hoods do. Previous owner has moved the gauges to the battery box area and added a side compartment for the battery. Here is a overall very nice Lincoln SA200 F163 welder on a trailer. Please read this description in its entirety. I believe based on serail number it is a 1971. The unit runs good. Starts everytime. I recently aquired this machine and being upfront I will say that I have seen it welding(just yesterday) but it seems like it will only strike a arc sometimes. I am a reseller not a mechanic or welder by any means. I have read on google and other places that more than likely the brushes need to be cleaned or I was recently told it may be the exciter but I know nothing in regards to doing either of these. I also noticed that when the radiator is completely full it leaks out of the top left side. I again was told it was a easy or inexpensive fix.The unit pulls great and again I do know it welds but for the reasons mentioned above I am selling as ... moreis where is no returns. 1973 Lincoln SA200 Copper wound machine. NEW: Belt. Water Pump, Exciter and Solenoid, Rebuilt alternator, Magneto, Wires, Plugs, Board, New main brushes. Machine Has been Powder Coated black, with red decals. Machine is running a little rich, blackish white smoke, and needs a carb kit. It also leaks a small amount of oil and im positive its coming from the pan gasket. I do not have the time to take tear it down and fix it so im letting it go. Machine welds great. Gonna start off saying this is not a redone. Rebuilt, refurbished or gone through machine. I bought this with the intentions of redoing it for resale but have decided against it.has a vibration. IT DOES RUN AND WELDER BUT IS NOT WORK READY. They cut the fins and tried to install the f163 motor. it runs and welds but vibrates. I WOULD NOT RUN IT LIKE THIS. It has a fairly new magnetor. Starter, idler upgrade, alternator upgrade, new style cables remote receptacle, and spin on oil filter. The motor fires right up and has no smoke or leaks and idler works. Radiator is good. The battery box has been changed at some point also. THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I BOUGHT IT BUT DONT WANT TO REDO IT FOR RESALE. NO DOORS ARE INCLUDED. No smoke and starts right up(no choke cable and still starts easy) Front of pan gasket has a slight leak. R57 idler does work. Good brushes. Be a great builder for someone wanting to learn sa200's or someone wanting to do one themselves. No doors. Metal is an ugly silver but in usable condion. No major rust issues. SA200-SA250 Pipeliner CV Adapter. Now you can run mig boxes and suitcases off your pipeliner. Was used from 1996 to 1999 hooked up to a SA-200 Lincoln welder with a LN-25 wire feeder. The set-up ran real well with.035 solid core wire and.045 dual shield. Aluminum wire ran good also in the same set-up. Very little hours on unit. Has sat in storage since 1999 due to health reasons. Both SA-200 and SA-250 thermostats are pictured as you can see. Will fit both machines gas and diesel. I have included all the original documents-operating instructions and installation guide.
