This welder has been in the family for over 50 years. And has been in dry storage since the 70's. The top and base of the cover are actually made of wood! Fired it up the other day and it still puts down a great bead! There is no ID plate on the unit, so I never knew when it was made. However, upon contacting the Forney museum in Denver, Colorado with these pictures, I found it's one of the first units they ever made. see letter) I am retired and no longer have a use for it, so maybe a fabricator/old tool collector might want it. They fired for probably only a couple second per cycle but have no idea how many cycles. In later years the majority of the units were ran on the remaining line as it is more versatile. This line was purchased around 1983 and we only have maintenance records from 1986. This unit was removed from production and has been stored since 2007. This line ran until the day it was decided two lines were not necessary for required production. You are bidding on a used Chicago Electric welder. This is a 90 amp flux wire welder with a 20% duty cycle at 90 amps(max) The product page is available. This is a pretty small welder that can be moved around relatively easily and has no wheels or base. It has instead four rubber feet. The wire spool can be accessed through the top by removing the screw holding it the lid in place. The other side has hinges. This welder does not come with any accessories besides what is already attached. There is currently no wire loaded into this welder and the tip, which is bent, may require replacing. Though we have not used it the welder seems in pretty good condition with little damage and nothing appears to have been broken off. The work cable has some minor damage where the teeth of the clamp bit in while it was stored but his doesn't appear to ... morehave broken through the coating or damaged the cable too much. There is also some electrical tape around the cable just under the gun. We did not remove the tape.
