The bailers close shut when turning the dual paddle handles, but if you are a seasoned fisherman. Then by now you would know to close the bailer by hand. These are not positive stop reels. So always stop with line on top of the reel. Reverse lever and reverse works fine on both reels. These reels are used! They can be used in as in condition with no problems. I'm selling a used Shimano Spirex 4000 rear-drag spinning reel. It is in great looking and running condition. There are a few marks on it from normal use over the years but it has no problems. It's been sitting in the box for a while and I don't need it anymore. The original box and manuals are included. As well as the original spare spool. Like most reels of this type, the handle is reversible for left/right use.

Used but never abused. Some surface scratches. One owner. They come with 2 spools, 1 2000 and 1 1000. They both fit and work fine on either reel. One of the plastic covers fell off see pic, this does not effect the operation of reel. The buyer should be able to find a replacement for a few dollars. Nice reels
