The only problems that I see is some corrosion on the chromed parts of the reel like the handles and guides etc. The aluminum casting is in good shape with no breaks or cracks. Shakespeare Platinum LX6000 Long Cast Saltwater Fishing Reel, 2 ball bearings
This is a well-used reel. But still has plenty of fish-catching days in it. Cosmetically as can be seen in pictures there are some scuffs and marks on reel. The handle was corroded and paint peeling off, so I used steel wool to clean it up. The aluminum part of bail is corroded as can be seen in picture. The bail itself has lost the paint. I do find it easier to flip the bail back by hand after casting, but it will automatically go back when turning handle. Cosmetically the reel is not great. Mechanically it works fine. The inside I have cleaned so new owner should probably re-oil the gear assembly beneath spool. So there is still some great fish to be caught on this reel.
