Thoroughly cleaned, and then reassembled with synthetic grease and oil to prevent rust and hardening of the lubricants. This reel functions perfectly and shows almost no signs of wear or use. I have been repairing and rebuilding/restoring fishing reels for over 35 years and this reel is an excellent buy.
