The line winds to the front of the spool. The reason is the original owner removed two of the spool washers to suit his fishing preferences. See section of manual I included in the photo. It explains the procedure for spooling this reel. The 3 washerset up is common to the Shimano Stradic reels as well. I've had this Shimano 2000 FG Symetre for about 3 yrs now and never used it once. I bought it used at a yard sale and was fishing tournaments at the time. Health problems spoiled my plans. The reel is in excellent condition. Very smooth. The line winds to the front of the spool. The reason is the original owner removed two of the spool washers to suit his fishing preferences. See section of manual I included in the photo. It explains the procedure for spooling this reel. The 3 washerset up is common to the Shimano Stradic reels as well. Unfortunately I do not have the other two washers but I'm sure they are attainable. Check out my other items!

This is a Shimano Spirex 2000 rear drag spinning reel. It is used and in absolute perfect working condition. It is super smooth. Reel handle and both handle knobs rotate smoothly, rear drag and Fightin drag are perfect, bail flips over cleanly, anti-reverse is perfect, drag clicker sounds nicely, and line roller spins nice.
