It has seen extremely limited use and has a smudge here and there but is unusually clean. On the gold foil wrapper(where the 33 is) says 1983 and Brunswick; I believe that would be the mfg date. Bottom of the foot says made in USA. I did not so much as wipe it off- so you can make it as clean as you'd like. This strikes me as a surprisingly sophisticated reel for 1983. 3 good photos to review. From the estate of a professional angler. I have a few other reels of his listed. Solid& sturdy in good working shape. One is a little stiff when turned& needs to cleaned& oiled. The handles turn smooth& freely& the thumb releases work. Lot of 5 Vintage Zebco 33 Spincast Reels working MADE IN USA (the good kind)
i have been dreading doing this. My dad passed away 3 years ago, i guess its time to start selling some of his stuff out of the garage, here is a lot of 5 zebco 33 reels, 3 are the same, one says"spinner" and one says"classic" all 5 reels were made in the usa, of course they all work(they are the good made in usa 33's) they have never been used in salt water, fresh water only. i checked that the drag, thumb button, and and handles all work. i would however recommend that you clean,lube and put new line on them.
