The reel is m echanically excellent and internal parts are super clean with no corrosion or rust- Serviced and properly lubed and'tested fully functional' prior to listing- Very smooth action& silent movement- Good drag. Cosmetically: Extra clean- Some typical& light use rash. Mostly on spool housing as pictured- No Hard knocks. A nice selection of closed face reels that can be used for parts or need to be repaired. Big Zebco stainless steel Spinner Model 55 has no anti reverse. Zebco 808 no anti reverse. Zebco 606 is stiff reeling. Garcia Abu-Matic 70 needs a screw for the star drag. Horrocks-Ibbotson Defiance 1900 has a broken foot and needs repair. There aren’t any signs of use. No no dirt anywhere, and the only marks in the finish are a tiny, tiny bit of tackle box“rash. This may have been a tackle box queen, but I’d be willing to bet it never even got that close to the water. The clutch works and trips and the reel cranks and clicks just fine. And runs smoothly. The star drag system is likewise working well. In short, this is a great example of this model reel. It reels very good& smooth& the drag works very good. The drag can be set from light to tight with the knob on the handle for reeling the handle forward. When pulling back on the handle the drag will revert to a light drag. Cosmetically the reel shows some wear with some paint missing here& there& has some scuffs& scratches. This is a very good. ABU GARCIA 290 SPIN CAST REEL. These reels are getting hard-to-find. The reel is well-made. In the traditions of Abu Garcia, and is hefty for larger fish. Overall. a very nice looking and excellent working reel. There is normal wear. As you can see in the pictures. The reel is spooled with line, but I don't know the brand, or what lb. test it is. This will be a nice reel for late fall fishing or part of a vintage fishing tackle display. I will ship this item to the continental USA only. No international sales. I can accept PayPal.
