This is a metal reel and when I put it on my postal scale it weighs just short of a pound. Very little plastic was used to make this vintage reel. There is line installed in the reel and I would estimate it to be about 12 pound.

This is a very good. ABU GARCIA 290 SPIN CAST REEL. These reels are getting hard-to-find. The reel is well-made. In the traditions of Abu Garcia, and is hefty for larger fish. Overall. a very nice looking and excellent working reel. There is normal wear. As you can see in the pictures. The reel is spooled with line, but I don't know the brand, or what lb. test it is. Abu Garcia Abumatic spincast combo-375 reel and Vendetta rod
This is a quite uncommon medium to large reel. Very sturdy with star drag. Very sharp looking reel with some minor scratches on cover. Instant anti-reverse and rotor lock. Rod is also Abu and has had a ferrule added to center to make it a 2 piece. Total length now 78 inches. Very little wear on rod with crisp detail. Next generation graphite with 7 guides including tip. I don't know the original price of reel but the rods are in the 60-80 dollar range. New line onboard.

Abu Garcia Abumatic 476 Spincast, Closed Face, Pushbutton Reel, No Reserve!
Up for auction is a very solid 476 Abumatic Reel. Note this is not the 476i. But the 476. The 476 has a larger spool capacity. This reel has been disassembled, lubed, oiled and all functions checked. The gears and internal components show no wear at all. The reel has a fresh backing of about 10 yards of mono and then a full spool of Hi-Vis 30lb Braid. This is a solidly built reel and weighs in at 13.8 ounces with a wide-ranging drag. These are great reels for bass or catfish and a variety of other species. I only accept PayPal.
