This is an Abu Garcia Abumatic Model 376 spincast reel. This reel has been used and therefore has some rubs and scratches and one side of the reel has lost some of its color from the sun. This is a metal reel and when I put it on my postal scale it weighs just short of a pound. Very little plastic was used to make this vintage reel. There is line installed in the reel and I would estimate it to be about 12 pound.

Up for auction is a nice lot of two Abu Garcia Abumatic spincasting reels. One is a model 574 and the other is a Model 440 Both of these reels were made in the Japan and are so marked on the foot. Both reels are in decent cosmetic shape. The 440 is probably in the best cosmetic condition. The graphics/tape on both reels show a little wear. The front and back covers on both have no dings or damage. Please take a look at the enlarged photos. As they accurately depict the condition of these reels. Mechanically, both reels are in good working order. The actions are smooth and the release, anti-reverse and drag mechanisms work fine. There aren’t any signs of use. No no dirt anywhere, and the only marks in the finish are a tiny, tiny bit of tackle box“rash. This may have been a tackle box queen, but I’d be willing to bet it never even got that close to the water. The clutch works and trips and the reel cranks and clicks just fine. And runs smoothly. The star drag system is likewise working well. In short, this is a great example of this model reel. Please take a look at the pictures for condition and in case I missed or forgot to mention something. Don’t hesitate to ask questions or for more pictures! I’m happy to help. But maybe not the best photographer. For some reason the camera ... moreflash made some of the pictures look a little more red, so I tried to include pictures both ways.
