Unmarked Underspin Closed Face Spinning Spincast Reel You are bidding on an unmarked fishing reel that is similar in function to the Shakespeare 1600 1735 1745 1755 1756 1810 under spin reels. These closed face reels have no trigger and are usually mounted underneath on a fly rod or a spinning rod with movable rings. They operate by pinching the line with your forefinger against the rod cork. Then turning the handle backward about ¼ turn to release the line. You then cast it like a regular spinning reel. When you begin the retrieve the pickup engages and you can reel in the line…pretty cool mechanism! I have fished with these type reels quite a bit and they perform quite well. This particular reel is very well made and of similar design and function to the Shakespeare. But is unmarked and I cannot identify the brand or maker.
