It opens up to the left and right to a total of 65.5” long. There is 23.5" of clearance for a chair, and the top opening where the sewing machine fits is 20.5" long. THIS IS THE SEARS KENMORE 158-10400 MINI SEWING MACHINE. THIS COMES WITH THE EXTRA FEET. BOBBINS, AND ITEMS SHOWN. THIS HAS HAD THE THREAD HOLDER REMOVED BUT HAVE THE OTHER STEM THAT WORKS GREAT AS SHOWN. JUST PULL IT OUT WHEN STORING THE MACHINE IN THE CASE. I HAVE SEWN WITH THE MACHINE AS SHOWN, FRONT AND BACK.
