This is ideally suited for stitching leather or other heavy materials and is very similar to the SINGER 29 Series.According to the information I was able to find on line.The Singer 29 and the Adler 30-1 use the same needles,presser feet,bobbin shuttle,as well as many other parts. For Auction: Antique Singer 29-4 Leather Patcher Treadle Style Cylinder Arm Machine. Serial Number: G7744863. Born on January 6th, 1920. These machines were designed for leather patching, shoe repair, and harness making. They were incredibly well made and are still highly sought after by cobblers, harness makers, leather patch sewers, etc. Treadle style but can also be sewn with by hand, using the balance wheel for slower stitches. This machine has been lightly cleaned, oiled and tested on multiple layers of Sunbrella as well as thick belt leather and sews perfect stitches in(sewing samples included, see photos) Small to large stitch lengths tested and all sewed beautifully. For Auction: Antique Singer 29-3 Leather Patcher Treadle Style Cylinder Arm Industrial Sewing Machine. This is a VERY OLD AND RARE MACHINE. And pre-dates the 29-4. By all appearances, it's mechanically the same but there may be slight differences. Serial Number: 13971317, born in 1874! These machines were designed for leather patching, shoe repair, and harness making. They were incredibly well made and are still highly sought after by cobblers, harness makers, leather patch sewers, etc. Treadle style but can also be sewn with by hand, using the balance wheel for slower stitches. This machine has only been lightly cleaned, oiled and tested on multiple layers of Sunbrella as well as thick belt leather and amazingly still sews perfect stitches, sewing samples included, see photos) All parts move smoothly, I have sold many of these machines, ... moreand have never seen a 29-3, or a patcher this old. Original cast iron base in great condition, no visible cracks and has original wooden drive shaft. Machine has surface rust typical of a machine from this era. Stitcher Landis 12 K curved needle leather sewing boot/shoe Cobbler Machine
I bought a couple Machines from a Shoe Repair Shop back in SC. One is a Landis 12 K and the other is an Auto Soler. the shop just recently close because the owner retired. These were sold in working condition. However I do not know much about these machines but I will answer questions the best I can. I have not tested the machines fully but you can see video of what test I did. The machines are loaded on my enclosed trailer. In the video you will see light flash when powered on that is the light in my trailer because of the turning on machines. These are being sold as local pickup in Ocala Florida.Please bring help. For sale Singer 29k2 shoe patcher. This is a short arm(12" hand crank patcher. With two crank wheels. In very good working condition. I prefer local pick up. But willing to ship it with a DRIVER ONLY. So we both have to find someone on craigslist or kijiji“rideshare” who's going your way. So generally it’s within 500- 600 miles from Toronto. So if you live further it might be more difficult. US cities are not an issue. I’ve done this before with machinery so it’s a safe method of transportation. Buyer covers delivery costs. AMERICAN STITCHER MADE IN ST LOUIS This hard to find American machine came from an estate auction along with other cobbler items that I will be listing on ebay this week. We havent got this off the trailer yet so ive only placed a few bad pictures on ebay. Will take better photos Tuesday. My garage is full so hopefully I will be able to take this to a friends shop and see if I can power up this bad boy. If not I will put it in storage and wont be able to test it. Rains coming and ive got to get it off the trailer. The machine was at Alpine Towing- a shop located near Mt. Hood Oregon. The couple rented skies. Hiking gear and made and repaired boots and made other leather goods. I was told that the machines last use was aproximately 15 years ago. No power was available in the building to test the machine. the couple aged and quit the business ... morebut kept all their equipment and supplies until their death. Im not a Seller of cobbler items and have no knowledge of the use of this product. It appears like it was just used yesterday. Singer 29-4 Cobbler Shoe Sewing Machine Sewn Off/Serviced
All of the machines that leave my shop function exactly as they would new from Singer if not better! All my machines are shipped with needles. Bobbins, thread and a threader so you are ready to start when you get it! We go through all the functional parts of the machine paying close attention as to not remove the character of the machine. We like to call our type of restorations more of a resto-mod to accommodate the use of motors on our machines but leaving the characteristic patina.
