Hello. This auction is for a FISCHBEIN BAG CLOSER and counter balance. This seems to be a completely foreign object and concept to eBay for some reason. There are other bag closers for sale here. But I couldn't find any other Fischbein's, which used to be THE bag closer. They used to keep one of these on hand at the seed house for a back up when the main bag closer would break down, as I'm sure they still do all across the corn belt at seed houses everywhere. These are sweet little machines, and this one is no exception. It runs like, well, like a sewing machine! It is of course a single thread chain stitch, making the stitch like you find in a dog food bag, the kind that you can pull out by unthreading the last stitch and tugging on the end, unzipping the bag. I did find other bag closers(all made in China) here on eBay, but ... morewhat they failed to offer was the all important counter balance, which helps to support the machine while it's in use. While it is light weight(just under 12 pounds) you don't want to have to run it all day(or even half a day) without the counter balance. The one that comes with this machine works very well and has a feature that will hold the machine suspended all the way up when not in use, but still allow it's easy deployment without needing to pull down hard. This spring and cable device is designed well and works well. Also with this machine I include a package of needles, genuine Fischbein, with only a couple gone, so there are still over twenty needles in the pack, and you also get the spool of cotton string you see in the pictures. I have gone over the machine, oiled it, and sewed it off. It is working very nicely. I don't have a book for it, but it is a very straight forward machine, almost self explanitory. Keep it oiled, threaded like it is when you get it and avoid dropping it on the floor(which the counter balance also helps with) and you shouldn't have any trouble. Parts are still available for these fine functioning, made in the U.S.A. machines.

Newlong NP-7A Bag Closer Sewing Machine
This machine was bought new in1996 when it was still made in Japan.It was used 1 time to repair some fish nets.It did a great job and sold the boat and nets.It has been in original box since then.Still looks like new.Just pulled it out and oiled it up and the sewing in pictures was done tonight.It sews just like new.It comes with all books.Tools,carbon motor brushes,3 packs of 10 needles,oil,1 white and 2 blue spools of thread.Runs great or money back.Thanks for looking.

Here is a nice model D bag closer. This is the real thing not the Chinese ones in the market. This model is new enough to still get parts. It will be a while before you need parts on this one.
