Vintage Double Handwheel Industrial Fur Sewing Machine Bonis/Hashfield 1890's Here is a Vintage Double Handwheel Industrial Fur Sewing Machine. It doesn't have a makers' name anywhere. But in researching this machine, I think it is either a Bonis or Allbrook Hashfield from about 1890's to 1910. It has a number 15399. All parts work freely.ie: hand wheels, thread spool holder and the place where a needle would go. Unfortunately There is NO needle. It is all black and weighs 28 lbs. No reserve. I have been making fur and shearling jackets. Coats and vests for years and this Bonis S-50 has never failed me! I have decided to let a couple of my machines go as they don't get the use they should and someone who does this type of work can totally benefit from this amazing little NEVER STOP machine! The machine is attached to a 20" deep by 40" long table with a 1/2 hp motor attached. The motor is fairly new and hums along perfectly. Just needs to be oiled up and she's ready to go! I will also include a couple hundred extra needles as shown in the photo with the printed instructions for the machine. This machine came from a woman who ran a small sewing business out of her house. She is quite old and no longer needed her machines. Which is how I got this one. It is a Bonis Serial A fur-sewing machine. In it's original table from a Fur Sewing Supply store that was in New York City(the table is marked as such) It will sew lightweight furs, such as mink and fox. She installed a motor and and on-off switch. The machine runs when the pedal is pushed and seems to have all of its parts. But I can't figure out how to make it work properly. However, I don't know much about these types of machines. I have tried them before and know that the hook has to grab the thread, but I can't figure out how to make this one do that when I step on the motor. it probably just needs a small adjustment, but I will let the new owner deal with that. ... moreThe machine plus table measures 37" wide x 36" high x 20" wide.
