Singer 15-91 "Industrial" Heavy Duty Sewing Machine Leather Canvas Direct Drive
LOADED Singer 15-91 serial number AH902178(1948) Comes with pictured attachments. PLUS the zig zag attachment and extra cams for it. The paper manual is there for reference only. This machine does a great straight stitch with reverse and DIRECT DRIVE(aka potted motor) IT IS THE SMOOTHEST 15-91 I HAVE HAD. It has been in the same family since it was purchased new. They took good care of the machine. Replacing the power cord and motor brushes and keeping it properly lubricated. The decals are in decent shape with some pin scratching on the front"Singer" and the leading edge of the bed. Evidently they put their pins on the underside of the pin cloth. As a result. Most of the wear to the finish is on the underside of the arm and not readily noticeable. I did not notice it until I got it home and was cleaning it. You could set it up ... moreas a show piece and few people would notice the wear. If you need to do leather. Canvas, quilting and/or fine cotton this is the machine for you. Super quiet and smooth running when in use. The decals are intact and the paint is not faded. It was deep cleaned. My sewed samples consist of 4 layers of leather and 4 layers of denim, sewed them with such ease and nice clean tight stitches it amazed me. It uses standard 15x1 needles. Also, I take off the faceplate, the gear cases, the hand-wheel, slide plate, bottom plate and the back access plate to clean the old oil and grease build up. I clean out the packed-in lint and dust, remove the thread-jams, inspect the hook and the needle plate, installed new belt and bulb. Singer Compound Feed Industrial Sewing Machine Leather, Jeans, Canvas 111W151
This is the Singer 111W151-HEAD ONLY- Also included in addition to the standard foot pictured on the machine. A welt foot, zipper foot, 1 bobbin and a pack of needles and a downloaded manual that is not exactly for the 111W151 but is about 95% correct. This head is complete and will sew once placed in your table. I have read somewhere that the W means it was made in Germany. I don't know 100% if that is true but I can attest to the quality of these old machines. I love this machine but I just can't keep them all. The Singer 111 series is the series that most other walking foot machines cloned off of like Juki. Consew, Tacsew 111 etc. It was cloned because it is such a rock solid and effective class. It is a single needle. Lock stitch, rotary hook intended for high-speed stitching of medium heavy materials. This machine does not have ... morereverse but reverse is really over-rated. Check out the attached video where I share 4 different methods for locking stitches without it. The Singer 111W151 differs from other models of the class 111 in that it has a single presser foot instead of the alternating presser foot. I like to think of it as a bridge between standard drop feed and walking foot machines. It kind of gives you advantages of both.
