Here is a true. Heavy duty, industrial, chain stitch, sewing machine. A Singer 240 k 13 made in Great Britain. Used in an old glove factory, until it closed. It is truly a mighty mite- you'll notice the six inch ruler in the picture. It is easily half the size of a regular home model sewing machine. It's convenient size makes it easier to mount and move. A Chain-Stitch(pictured) and to do it well! It's simplicity is it's strong point. Fewer moving parts. They are unique as they use only one top thread- no bottom bobbin. Just a simple well timed looping shuttle beneath which grabs the needle thread as it travels through the fabric to ... moremake the stitch. This is also a self oiling machine. Meaning you fill the body with oil and it cares for it's own moving parts, the oil level is seen through the glass indicator(pictured) Now, this one is in good used condition with minor signs of age and wear, it has been well cleaned and oiled in the cleaning process but it will need to be oiled and filled when you receive it, as we can not send it full and dripping of oil in the mail. A highly versatile machine designed to sew a wide variety of materials from lightweight up to and including moderately heavy materials such as tarps. Sunbrella, tents, boat covers, suede, denim, upholstery to light leather. It is a high shank, straight and zigzag stitch machine with reverse and offers 5/16" space under its' foot.
