It is automatic lubrication so the wear that it has experience is practically non-existent. We have other newer machines and so this one is redundant.This thing will really sew. I also have a Juki LU-562 and after sewing on both. I prefer this one. It seems to have better fit and finish, the foot clearance is greater and I think it is faster too. It is a single-needle lockstitch machine that features automatic lubrication. A combination of Needle Feed, Drop Feed and Walking Foot. OFFERED FOR SALE IS A SINGER INDUSTRIAL MODEL 144WSV38 30" LONG ARM SEWING MACHINE S/N 185172 This machine was owned since new by the U.S.Air Force at Offut AFB. Omaha, Nebraska. When I purchased it there was no table top included since it had been built into a very large table for handling large bulky fabric items such as tarps& parachutes. With the help of a local cabinet shop I made a table top from 2" thick butcher block solid maple and finished it with 2 coats of urethane varnish. In preparing it for sale on 9/22/14 I was fortunate to find a service shop in the Omaha area whose technician happened to be the same person who serviced this machine at Offut AFB over a number of years. He did a thorough inspection. Oiling, reset the timing, stitch length, other adjustments and test sewed the sample shown in the photos through ... moreup to 10 layers of vinyl upholstery material. He also stated that this machine is in excellent condition with no problems due to mechanism wear and is somewhat unique since it has the reverse capability upgrade and a safety clutch to prevent machine damage from accidental jamming. His name and a copy of the work order will be furnished to the new owner. It also has the heavy duty bobbin winder mechanism. Included also is a copy of the operating instruction manual that references all the oiling points and adjustments as well as a few extra needles.
