Union Special Flat Bed Single Needle Chainstich Machine Selvage Denim Outseam
Up for consideration is an unbelievable Union Special flat bed single needle chain-stitch machine from the late 1880's model 2600A. This machine is incredibly rare. Originally a small flat bed single needle chain-stitch walking foot for bag construction and leather-work. This would be perfectly suited to out-seaming selvedge denim jeans. As many denim enthusiasts may know there has been a resurgence in use of antique Union Special machines amongst Japanese and American companies. I have seen several Japanese manufacturers restore these machines. Often taking several to make one functioning one. This machine is much rarer than a restored machine as it appears to be untouched since its initial production. These machines have been re-purposed to sew out seams on selvage jeans. This machine would be a great addition to any small jean shop ... moreto sew out-seams, hem pockets, etc. This machine is much more rare than an edge lock and would be a great way to differentiate your products from the next manufacturer. This machine is a manual oiling machine so the bed-plate will need to be removed(easy only three screws) and the wicks and felts on the shaft oiled before use. once a day for daily use will be sufficient) Since this machine was also designed to sew leather it has a thread waxing pot. I have removed it as likely the person who purchases this machine will use it for denim but it is included in the purchase and is very easy to install. This listing is for the machine head only. Table and motor are not included. I would strongly suggest that this machine be run by a servo motor as the speed should be slowed down; these machines were likely powered by a human powered treadle table. I would not run this machine for any extended period on a clutch motor at 3000 plus RPM. It would probably perform fine but given its age and rarity I would want to be gentle on it as it could be a collectible all by itself. UNION SPECIAL INDUSTRIAL SERGER. Model 39500 B, NO MOTOR, NO TABLE, HEAD ONLY. This should be the last of the sergers we will be selling. This head is a three thread from the factory but we purchased it and used it as a 2-THREAD serger. As you can see in the pics it sews beautifully. We have never used it as a 3 thread& I don't know what it takes to use it as a 3 thread. We have not needed this machine for years so its gotta go. Pulled it from our storage room& blew it off. Head is made in USA and UNION SPECIAL machines are excellent quality. If you are looking for a 2 thread serger you should give this a try. Machine runs very smoothly but will be shipped with the OIL DRAINED for obvious reasons. Sews a very nice edge, I just ran a piece of black vinyl thru it with 2 colors of nylon thread on bobbins, which be shipped with machine ... moresewn off with the vinyl still in the machine. As you can see in pics cutter appears to work properly also. USA sales only, lower 48. PayPal only with PayPal confirmed address. No post office boxes, no out of USA sales. This machine is sold as-is. No return. As with any machine it needs to be set up to your thread and specs. Remember these turn backwards compared to regular sewing machines, make sure your motor runs the proper direction. Amazing Condition Union Special 43200 JZ Special Edition Bulldog Hemmer
Up for consideration is perhaps one of the rarest 43200 machines ever produced. The pretty much unheard of 43200J this is a custom edition 43200JZ(z suffix denotes a custom built machine) This machine is a beautiful 3rd generation machine and is in unbelievable condition. The internals of the machine look like brand new. I am liquidating ALL my sewing equipment and was going to keep this machine for myself but I already have several 43200's and this would be more than redundant. There is some cosmetic wear on this machine but it is very minimal. There is a slight defect on the left side plate where the needle bar cover closes but it has no effect on the closure of the needle bar cover and cannot be seen when the cover is closed. The original orange oil paper covering on the needle plate is still intact. Which gives you an indication of ... morehow little use this machine has seen. This is the same style machine that DC4 uses to hem their pants. It would be very easy to affix a bulldog folder to this machine. This auction is for the head and mounting plate only. Very nice Union Special Mark IV 39500QW industrial sewing machine. The table is fairly new as well as the Frontier 110/220 motor and switch. The machine is currently set-up for 110vac but can easily be converted to 220 if desired. The machine turns on and sounds good and appears to be in full working condition. I have not sewn with this so I can guarantee that a few small parts may need to be purchased but I don't think so. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions.
