The Singer Sewing Machine Company has been a trusted household name over the past 150 years across the US and Worldwide. The 15 class of machines are one of Singer's most treasured and highly sought after. The Model 15 is known for being one of the toughest sewing machines available for household use. Dubbed the“workhorse” for its outstanding ability to“sew through anything” This classic machine can handle any of your household sewing needs with complete ease. Canvas, sailcloth, layers of denim and even leather are no problem at all for this powerhouse. The Model 15 is a straight stitch machine with an all metal gear drive, vertical oscillating hook, reverse feed mechanism, adjustable foot ... morepressure and stitch length, bobbin winder, feed dog drops, and an external Singer Light, which still works perfectly. It is a workhorse that should last for many years to come with minimal maintenance. Machine is in great condition for it's age, with nearly 100% of the gold leaf intact. It does has a few pin scratches and nicks but nothing major. Appears to have been well taken of over the years. This auction does not include the wood cover. The electrical cord from the pedal has electrical tape near the top where it attaches to the machine but other than that, has no visible frays or cracks and it still works well. The main cord, that plugs into the wall is in terrific shape and is quite long. Deck and body show very well with much less than average wear and tear for a 59 year old machine, and really lives up to the model 66's legendary sewing reputation. I purchased this machine from the grand daughter of it's original owner. It's seen three generations of quilting and home repairs, so it shows a lot of chips and pin scratches here and there from use and handling, but runs as strong as the day it left the factory in 1954. Industrial Singer sewing machine model 31-15 useful for quilting, fabric
You are bidding on an industrial model 31-15 Singer sewing machine with a serial number that starts with AL66. the rest of the number is unreadable. This was working when it was stored in my basement 15 or so years ago but I have no idea if it's usable today. This includes the stand and the table. There is rust on various parts of the stand and sewing machine head. This includes the light and the thread holder. The wooden table has many cigarettes burns on the top. On the back edge. The 1/4" wood veneer is separating from the main slab of wood. The stand is a singer. The motor is a Westinghouse 1/3 HP. Let me know if you're interested and have questions. Singer manufactured thousands of the earlier version of this model, the 29-4 from about 1890 to the 1950's though production moved from New Jersey to Scotland during the latter part of that time frame to produce this model, the 29K, a model with some modifications built for the same purpose. This model is the rarer long arm, large bobbin that is just as versatile as the short arm, small bobbin. These machines were made to last. I have used and serviced these machines for the last thirty years. This model has a recently pinion screw for the foot lever as well as a gear to place the fly wheel in the front as shown.
