Picked this up at an Estate Sale. I am no expert on sewing machines.This is a Singer 15-91 Industrial sewing machine. The serial number on this Machine is AG 923249. Made in the mid 1940's. Includes all items in pictures. No cover for the case as pictured. No cover for the light. Plugged in and works fine. No issues with electrial wiring. Vintage Heavy Duty SINGER 15-91 Industrial Sewing Machine w/ Extra Feet Button
~~~Singer~~~~ Here is a nice old Singer Sewing machine. I have done some research on this and the serial number dates this to 1951 and believe this is model 15-91. I've taken this to a man who has repaired sewing machines for 30+ years and this has been tested. But he didn't think it needed any work, aside from oiling, which has not been done. The motor runs strong and the action looks good on the needle, flywheel, etc. We did not sew fabric with this, but I understand that this model is considered a workhorse and was a very good machine that there is a huge following for. This is built solid and weighs almost 29# for the machine alone, before boxing. Machine could possibly need oiling, which I have not done; this runs as it is, however, it does not come with a regular foot pedal. This was removed for a drop-in case and the wires ... moredetach to wind down the case, which has foot bar attached. I suppose I could try to disassemble that, but this would be best suited for someone with a case with similar electrical set-up. Light works and this motor is strong. The sewing machine comes with some extra foot attachments which are shown closer in one pic.I see a ruffler. Edge foot, possibly a zipper foot and some I have never used. Also comes with buttonhole accessory with green case and extra templates, which is not shown in photo. This is a short shank machine and a drop-in cabinet style. It does not sit flat on a kitchen table and is shown with the hinged pieces here that go on the sewing table it came out of. I forgot to take them off of the table and they really are not included since they ought to stay with the table. Table itself is probably 1960's and blonde wood in fair condition. It has a couple of drawers and would work fine for this, but I hesitate to post this with table, since shipping $$$ will appear excessive. If you're interested, please email and can send info/pix. For sale is a Singer 15-91 top of the line sewing machine made in April 1952 according to the web site. It is in close to pristine condition and was purchased from the grandson of the original owner. This is a vintage Singer Sewing Machine Model 15-91. Serial#AJ42656, does not include a cabinet or case. It is a direct drive machine and does not require a belt which gives it full industrial strength when sewing. It is a very strong machine. LOADED Singer 15-91 serial number AH902178(1948) Comes with pictured attachments. PLUS the zig zag attachment and extra cams for it. The paper manual is there for reference only. This machine does a great straight stitch with reverse and DIRECT DRIVE(aka potted motor) IT IS THE SMOOTHEST 15-91 I HAVE HAD. It has been in the same family since it was purchased new. They took good care of the machine. Replacing the power cord and motor brushes and keeping it properly lubricated. The decals are in decent shape with some pin scratching on the front"Singer" and the leading edge of the bed. Evidently they put their pins on the underside of the pin cloth. As a result. Most of the wear to the finish is on the underside of the arm and not readily noticeable. I did not notice it until I got it home and was cleaning it. You could set it up ... moreas a show piece and few people would notice the wear. If you need to do leather. Canvas, quilting and/or fine cotton this is the machine for you. Super quiet and smooth running when in use. The decals are intact and the paint is not faded. It was deep cleaned. Bobbin tire replaced, a ground wire for the case added, lubricated and the tension set according to the Singer standard. They used two layers of light cotton. Standard mercerized thread and a number 14 needle. I have shown in the pictures example pieces of its stitch quality. It flies through cotton quilt pieces. Handles 8 layers of cotton canvas(with number 69 thread and a number 18 needle) and punches through three layers of leather(almost 3/16" with a little help on the first stitch. Its basically so that there is no cord in the way and the foot controller stays in one place and it does not move around. This Singer comes is our personal machine from our collection, Fully restored and serviced, so bid with confidence. As seen in the sewed samples. This wonderful Singer will sew just about anything, from leather, denim to your most simplest of fabrics such as silk, will embroider and darn. This Singer uses needle sizes 9,11,14,16,18,19 and 21. This sewing machine just came off the restoration bench and it's looking& sewing like a new machine. I inspected and rebuilt the upper tension for perfect stitches front and back. Timing set to Singer factory specs. The bobbin case inspected, replaced motor and lamp power cord with a higher grade cord.
