Up for bid we have a VINTAGE 1952 GERMAN MADE PFAFF MODEL 130 PORTABLE SEWING MACHINE. This was considered the Cadillac of sewing machines and was built with quality and workmanship throughout. It includes the instruction booklet. A heavy duty carrying case that lifts off with two built in parts draws, a metal parts container, a simple Dial-a-stitch function, stitch regulator and many other parts that allow it to do many functions. The booklet lists some of the operations without attachments. It makes buttonholes, or corded buttonholes, sews straight and reverse, sews on buttons, snaps, hooks and eyes, bar-tacks, zigzags, satin stitch, trim stitches, darns and mends, monograms, blind stitches, appliqués, overcasts and embroiders. When manufactured the PFAFF factory used the finest cast iron in Europe and used precision hand skilled workers. ... moreThe hand forged parts inside the machines are made from the finest steel available. Each machine is painted and repainted four times in black lacquer and once in a clear lacquer. The black lacquer finish on this machine is still in wonderful condition. The electric motor is a PFAFF quality 115V AC-DC 1.3 Amp 1/15 HR 5000 R.P.M. and made in the USA. It also has the GOOD HOUSEKEEPING seal of approval as PFAFF was made special for each country’s needs and sold all over the world. The machine includes a working light with switch and durable electric foot pedal. We know little about how sewing machines operate but when plugged in the shuttle went up and down fine and everything seems to be in working condition. We have no idea how to use the attachments or functions. A small rubber grommet ring on the right side of an attachment is hardened and needs to be replaced. Uses common 15x1 needles. The Pfaff 130 has been cleaned degreased of all old lubricants and relubed with modern materials. Includes the original Pfaff light. Timing and all adjustments have been set and performed. It has new Supreme sewing machine motor and belt. 1/16 hp, 7000 rpm, 90 watt that is more than enough power to sew the thickest sewing material. This is a very nice machine. It is not a parlor piece as it has some scratches and loss of some decal. See photos. Somewhere down the line somebody deeply scribed ID numbers into the paint. This machine is a working machine and it does that very well. See the example stitches. I have sewn 8 layers of denim as well as made and repaired large boat covers using Sunbrella with this type of machine. A motor.
