This is the Bottom plate and is 6 7/8" in diameter and a little rusty. It will need cleaned but will be fine. Look the pictures over good as they are part of the description. Up for offer a NATIONAL SPECIALTY M FG. CO. SAUSAGE STUFFER. Made in Phill. Pa. U.S.A. Patt date of Sep 14, 1879. Also has screen insert for pressing fruits for wine. Was used for pressing lard in the old da ys. This Cast Iron Press is in great shape there are no scratches. Dents, or repairs, looks to be the original handle, I did some cleaning on it and sprayed it with cooking spray to keep from any more rust, there is a bit of surface rust on the inside. With a bit of elbow grea se will look like new. Most of the Paint is missing looks like this was a worker in it s time. The Gears move easy and the whole thing opens with a little pressure. This is heavy. Weighs in at 46 pound. Was picked at Estate Auction with a lot of nicely kept items. Will ma k e a great addition to an y collection. Thanks for looking and Good Luck! It’s a bit dirty, a little rusty and the basket has been repaired and has a couple of rust holes in it. You may want to replace the basket ~ but it might be just fine. This is for National Specialty 8 Qt sausage stuffer fruit wine lard vegetable press pictured. This shows age. Use, and wear with areas of surface rust. There are areas of excess dirt and grime buildup and it may need further cleaning. There are a few condition issues. The small plate has been welded but it does work. The top lip on the basket is some what expanded out which causes it to get wedged inside the press. Everything else works as it should but it will need oiled and if the basket is used it may need some attention. Please check out the pics for any other details and feel free to ask questions.
