Was used for pressing lard in the old da ys. This Cast Iron Press is in great shape there are no scratches. Dents, or repairs, looks to be the original handle, I did some cleaning on it and sprayed it with cooking spray to keep from any more rust, there is a bit of surface rust on the inside. With a bit of elbow grea se will look like new. Most of the Paint is missing looks like this was a worker in it s time. The Gears move easy and the whole thing opens with a little pressure. You don't want to miss it. Different than most. It has been thoroughly cleaned, including the shaft with a wire wheel, the feet were rusted have been repainted. The external has all been clear coated to prevent corrosion and enhance beauty. The inside has a bees wax applied to it and has most of the original paint. The shaft has been completely cleaned with a wire wheel, not bead blasted and has been coated in a thin beeswax as well. This machine is beautiful and works smoothly and brings a nice homey charm. The plate and upper portion of this has been repaired as can be seen in photo this was either broken or cracked but has been re-welded and all works fine. This does not include basket nor smaller plate but does have stuffer horn nut and cracklin plate along with large plate wood handle has crack as can be seen in photo. This was recently cleaned and seasoned. Other than repaired areas previously disclosed this is a pretty nice stuffer and would be excellent for use in any butcher shop. National Specialty 8 Qt Sausage Stuffer Fruit Wine Lard Vegetable Press
This is for National Specialty 8 Qt sausage stuffer fruit wine lard vegetable press pictured. This shows age. Use, and wear with areas of surface rust. There are areas of excess dirt and grime buildup and it may need further cleaning. There are a few condition issues. The small plate has been welded but it does work. The top lip on the basket is some what expanded out which causes it to get wedged inside the press. Everything else works as it should but it will need oiled and if the basket is used it may need some attention. Please check out the pics for any other details and feel free to ask questions.
