Vintage TEAK & BRASS TALL ADJUSTABLE SURVEYOR'S TRIPOD. EXTENDABLE LEGS. LAMPS
This Vintage tripod is in excellent original condition and there are no visible repairs.It is just as I found it years ago.The label reads David White& Co.9060 and the threads are 3 1/8 X 8. The wood appears to be solid teak showing the beautiful patina and the metal appears to be some sort of brass.The strap shows some wear but is complete and works fine as do all of the leg tightners.The leg lenghts are 57 inches overall.The legs adjust up and down for length and in out for span.This heavey duty tripod can be used for its original purpose to hold a surveying transit or level or would make a wonderful lamp base.

I believe. But am not sure, that this is a CST/berger 24X PAL Automatic Level- as you can see in the photo the device has no mfg label. As you can see, the sighting instrument comes with a very nice custom carrying case. Additionally, the Tripod has a shoulder/hand strap, and the Measuring Tool has a custom carrying case with a strap. Each leg has a steel end cap for positioning it in the ground. Sturdy construction of solid Oak wood. Benjamin Pike and Sons surveyor's compass. 15.5" 6.75" box of compass. Wooden box measures 16.75"x 8.25"x 3.25" tripod has 57" legs. Includes sight veins with securing knurled studs, socket. Complete except for needle keeping knob, E-W level vile and two leg-to-plate fasteners. This is a plane compass with no vernier/tangent screw assembly ever present. Veins are 7 3/8" Needle plays nicely! Box is dovetailed mahogony, two keeper blocks need reglued. tripod plate is slightly bent in one spot. otherwise sound. Pike Sr. was located at 166 Broadway, NY, having moved from 12 Wall Street after 1837. In 1841, his second son joined the firm along with Sr. and Jr. thus the"and Sons" designation.
