I will say the transit tripod appears to be in good condition and functional with some surface scratches from normal use but no apparent damage. The transit legs telescope and are fully adjustable. It has a very interesting look. And should be either ready to be put back into use or used as a nice display piece maybe in an architect’s office or man cave. here is a beautiful old wooden camera tripod from the Sun Ray Photo Co. Inc. New York. it's in very good condition, but of course shows signs of age& wear. there are no cracks or repairs to the wood. the extensions slide easily, and the nuts tighten properly. the camera mount has a standard 1/4" screw. when completely unfolded, stands approx 56" tall. completely folded stands approx 22" tall. the only issue with this is the rubber tips on the feet. one is ok, but the other 2 have cracked off. there is some slight surface rust to the metal parts, excluding the camera mount.

Super Nice Wesco Wooden Survey/ Camera Tripod, Complete & Useable.
Here is a super nice wooden tripod. I think it's to survey but my camera's fit it& I have used it for photography for more than 15+ years. I'm not sure just how old it is but it had some age when I bought it. It's made by Wesco of San Fransisco, measures 56 inches full length, 31 inches retracted. Stands 56 inches tall extended. Legs are super sturdy, head measures 3 1/1 inches. All the hardware is there with just a small amount of surface rust on turn keys. Head has no rust at all. Vintage Transit Tripod Military Measuring Survey Equipment
For your consideration I have an Antique Brass Transit. This Transit looks to be military as it features the military green color around the base.It looks like it would have been from the WW2 Era.The only markings I could find on the transit are on the underside it has the following" 304.1. and on the other side also on the underside it looks like a Triangle with eathier an A inside of it or another smaller triangle inside of the Larger Triangle. I have tried to research these markings but was unable to find any info. It features all mouting hardware and plum bob. The box the transit comes in is dovetailed and is in very good condition. You will also be receiving the original tripod that is constructed of wood. It features primitive hardware as noted in photos. Each leg of the tripod have metal spikes that go into the ground to mount ... morethe tripod into position for use. The tripod does exhibit patina to the brass and exhibits some minor surface rust. The level is intact and the glass is not broken. The transit spins with ease to the proper degree that you would like to position it. The glass on the front and back of the viewing barrel are both intact and in good condition. As I said I believe this to be military but cannot confirm this for sure. However it is definetely old. I have owned many of these and this one is different from all of the others I have come across. This is really a great piece that would add nicely to any collection.
