Up for your consideration is a SCHONSTEDT Locator. I believe it to be a GA-52 but I am not sure which sub model I was a surveyor years ago so I am pretty familiar with the use and operation of these locators. We mainly used them to locate property corners like rebar or monuments This one works good. I used to find my property corners that I had no idea where they were. This unit does not have the hard rubber tip. It is missing. The volume and sensitivity knob are intact. One of the screw knobs on the battery cover are tight and should be considered stripped but able to work. I put fresh batteries in this unit and it worked fine. Life blood of the surveying communty. These two items were unfortuantlly drown. they have heavy corrosive issues in the cavity. I hink one is the 4-C-cell model and the other is the twin-9volt, which I am assurred will need new 9-volt leads. Cases are in tact. with case they are kind of heavy so I'll need like $50 shipping to get them both out the door. Volumes work on both. 1st- The On/Off switches is not screwed on tight(goes in full circle and is missing the plastic triangle) Volume knob is loose, missing a screw on the casing, missing plastic tip on the end where the locator is located, and it has scrathces and many scuffs. 2nd- Volume knob is loose. Is not missing any screws, has a chip on the metal casing, missing plastic tip on the end where the locator is located, and it also has scrathces and many scuffs. There are not any prior ownership markings on it(names. Company etc. This has been tested and is 100% operational and ready to take to the site. Controls work precisely and smoothly with no visible wear. This is a nice instrument. There is only slight abrasions from transport and 2 very small smudges of marking paint on the shaft(could probably be removed easily) The case is intact and latches and hinge are great.
