CST MAGNA TRAK 100 MAGNETIC LOCATOR WITH SOFT CASE
This magnetic locator functions as well as it did when I bought it new. Missing volume knob and missing sensitivity knob. However unit functions fine with out the knobs. Missing one screw in the back of the casing(see picture) yet the casing feels solid. Lots of scratching and paint splatter(cosmetic wear) on both the locator and the soft casing, as shown in the pictures. Zipper works on soft casing. Bought this 2003 used it until 2007 in my solo surveying business. Kept it in storage ever since.

This tool from yesteryear measures approximately 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches. Serial#259172. This product is not a"water witching" device but rather a magnetic dip needle that's optimized for locating ferrous metal in the ground. Like a water meter, but can be used for finding any ferrous metal that's relatively near the surface. The item appears to be in working condition. And instructions printed from the internet are included. The only damage is that the strap for the leather case is broken on the right side. But should be repairable with a couple of rivets. Up for your consideration is a SCHONSTEDT Locator. I believe it to be a GA-52 but I am not sure which sub model I was a surveyor years ago so I am pretty familiar with the use and operation of these locators. We mainly used them to locate property corners like rebar or monuments This one works good. I used to find my property corners that I had no idea where they were. This unit does not have the hard rubber tip. It is missing. The volume and sensitivity knob are intact. One of the screw knobs on the battery cover are tight and should be considered stripped but able to work. I put fresh batteries in this unit and it worked fine.
