Very Nice Condition Survey Kit. Includes Transit. Tribrach, Telescoping Tripod, Laser Level and carry case. Items in photos are exactly what you will receive- Guaranteed. I don't know much about land survey equipment. But this appears to be in very good condition with very limited use. All bubbles work fine. Tripod fully extends. I do not know how to verify the laser on the level, and didn't want to mess with it. But trust that if you are looking at this, then you know what it is and what questions to ask. Wooden Tripod Expandable, Surveyor's, Large, Heavy Duty Camera
I have up for auction a large tripod that I'm guessing is for a surveyor. the legs do extend and they have the rubber tips on the end. The wood is not super heavy. So I don't know what kind it is. It looks as if everything is in good shape. It measures 30 inches tall before pulling the legs out. The bands that are around the legs look like leather but are a thin sheet metal. There's a few nicks and scratches on the tripod(maybe from storage) but I don't think it has been used much if at all. If you have any questions, just ask. thanks for looking!

This tripod is in good condition for it's age. The cap on top of the tripod has a"chip" or"fracture" off the edge. But I don't believe it would interfere with it's functioning. The leather strap that secures the 3 legs together is worn and has broken, and the wood is slightly splintered where the screw holds the strap on. Once again, this is minor and a easy fix. Minor scratches and stains from age and use. Overall, I would consider this item to be in good condition. Here is a great Gurley surveyor's compass for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an auction. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! Great compass made by Gurley Engineering Instruments of Troy. NY. The compass comes with the Jacob's staff adapter that has an adjustable ball joint to facilitate leveling. Not sure if this piece was for land, mine or railroad surveying. If anyone out there knows, please share. Your identity will be kept anonymous. Thanks. The two sighting vanes are on the surveyor's compass and look appropriate. Maybe even original to the piece based upon what I have researched online. The one sighting vane has a metal wire down the middle ... moreof it, the other has a slit opening in its' center. The locking mechanism for the needle still operates. The needle moves freely and goes to north when in the unlocked position. Great engraved compass rose face on this compass. The silver colored face still looks good. There is a star engraved in the face above the maker's name. W& LE Gurley of Troy, NY. This compass also comes with a beautiful three legged wood and brass tripod(no manufacturer name on it. The wood and brass tripod is 32.5" long when folded down. There should have been a bolt to go up thru the bottom of the tripod to attach the jacob's staff to it. But alas that piece is no longer there. The glass is intact over the face of the compass. No cracks in glass. The twin brass cased bubble levels are still there with glass and fluids intact in both and are securely attached to the compass body. The brass case has markings along one quarter of it. This surveyor's compass is unique from many that I have seen on sale online over the past few years as it has the jacob's staff adapter(the ball and socket piece that would join the compass to a single staff or tripod) The brass case certainly

Leitz Sokkisha surveyor tripod, Aluminum, orange
Leitz Sokkisha aluminum tripod for theodolites and transits. 3.5" opening x 8 threads fits older equipment(check my listings for the vintage 1950's Keuffel and Esser transit that was on it) 68" tall at extension. 41" closed down. The paint is flaking, but the orange aluminum is still bright. There's obvious wear on the legs but all open and close smoothly, all the knobs grab. Carry strap is gone, but attachment point is still there to add a new one. Still a workable tripod OR make it into a lamp. A good wire brushing would work wonders on this. Threads are good, protector is on it. Have no idea of model number, can't find one on it. No idea of age, but under one leg there is 5-17-3.maybe date, maybe serial number, I do not know. Other legs are marked'Made in Japan' and'Tokyo' I don't want to ... moresell problem items and you don't want to buy them so I describe as clearly and accurately as possible. This is a Vintage RIES Model C Deluxe Tripod from the 1940's to early 1950's. The Ries Company is still in business in Washington State. The legs are all wood construction in very good condition and the legs extend from 39 ½” to 65" the metal crown on the top of the legs says Serial No. 756. The tripods are specifically made from"tone woods" or AKA; tonewoods" This wood reduces vibration for sharp images and is warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. The head is about 4" in diameter and has 2 working bubble Levels. The head says Swing Head. Patent pending, Model C. There is a quick release attachment with the letters U.I.P. which could be Universal International Pictures. The Tripod includes the metal crown and quick release attachments that if sold separately are worth more. I have owned the tripod ... morefor approximately 30 years– I used to own the Hollywood Athletic Club on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood CA which was a movie industry hang-out in the old days. Although the tripod is not in perfect condition. It is in great condition considering its age. This is a great collector’s item that can also be used because it works perfectly and may be worth a lot more than I am asking for it. Great item for a movie history museum etc. This type of Tripod was used to shoot stills during movie making way back when. The metal is in good condition but the paint is original with the patina of age. However it could be repainted if desired. Vintage Antique Surveyor's Transit Level on Tripod- Warren-Knight Estate find. This is a nice antique surveyor's tool, I believe it is called a transit. It has a telescope type lens and a bubble level. It rotates on a brass base and has four screws around the base to adjust the transit. It has a brass bottom with a threaded base that fits onto a brass connection on the tripod. The transit is marked with a brass plate"19-13230, Warren Knight Co. Philadelphia, USA" The Tripod has the mentioned brass connector at the top. It has three wood adjustable legs that are in two sections. There are black metal bands that hold the two pieces at the desired length. Two legs have two metal bands and one leg has just one band- it is still able to hold it in place. The ends of the legs have pointed metal pieces that hold into the ground. ... moreThe transit measures 18" long. With the tripod as pictured it is 60" tall. The tripod legs can be shortened to about 32" for transporting and shipping. Construction Tripod Surveyor's Builder's Extendable Aluminum with carrying strap
This is an orange-and-gray construction tripod. Also known as a surveyor's tripod. It is about three feet long when fully folded and compacted, and approximately 6 inches in diameter at the top. When extended to its maximum height, it is roughly five feet tall. See pictures 1, 2, and 5, where a yardstick is shown for scale. It is in good condition. On the top. There is a hand-turnable bolt that fastens standard equipment such as a builder's level, a laser level, or other items to the top. The three feet have small spikes that can be pushed down into dirt, and can be locked together when the item is in storage. It has a carrying strap on one side, and weighs between 9 and 10 pounds. Vintage Antique Bausch & Lomb Surveyor Transit Level & Folding Wood Tripod
Up for auction and fresh out of an old estate comes this Wonderful Antique Bausch& Lomb Surveyors Transit level in original box with accessories and comes with a Expanding wood& Metal Tripod stand. The Level looks to be in excellent condition with no damage other then some normal wear and needs a good cleaning. I've looked thru the Scope and it works and focuses and the level is still intact with fluid and works. Its marked(see photo) and its heavy! There are extra pieces that come in the fitted box and they are a triangular footed base that screws on. A brass weight with string, a folding magnifying glass, some metal tool piece and(2) metal looking rods? Each piece I mentioned has it own fitted spot in the box where it fits in. The box its self is in excellent condition as well and has 3 locks and I have both keys to lock these ... morelocks. Now the Tripod base that came with this piece is original army green color paint and its wood and metal. I offer for your consideration this Vintage Dietzgen oak wood and brass surveyor tripod stand. This beautiful item has spike leg tips and extendable crutch like legs designed for transits use or movie camera. The Tripod measures approximately 36" closed and 60" extended. This very old Dietzgen Tripod is overall it is used but still in good aesthetic and working condition. The wood is in great condition considering its age. There is still sheen on most of the finish. But in some areas it has dulled with age. The black paint on the cast metal is in good shape at the head, but is wearing off at the leg tips. The thread protector cap, where the transit attaches, is a K&E. One of the legs looks to be slightly different then the other two. The brass collar where the legs slides in and out is missing in two of the legs. Both issues ... moredo not affect the function or the appearance but I noticed it was out and wanted to mention it. It obviously shows signs of use but everything seems to function, it includes the thread protector show in pic 2, the leather strap that holds the legs together is cracked and made need replaced, tripod would have many uses including a lamp stand or to mount another optic system. Here is a nice. Very old, adjustable wood surveyor's tripod for a transit(Transit not included) But it can also be used for a telescope, a camera or a base for a lamp conversion. It has a very cool, industrial look. It has some white paint splatters and the brass hardware is tarnished. I have left it as found as it adds to that industrial feel, but it can be easily cleaned up by the buyer. Each leg originally had a nail in it to stop the adjustable section from sliding right off the leg. One of these nails is missing but could be easily replaced. This is a vintage The A. Lietz Co. San Francisco surveyor compass with tripod. It has a knob on the bottom that locks the needle in place. The compass must be fairly level when you unlock the needle for the center to stay properly balnced. When this is done correctly the compass works as it was intended. It comes with the tripod that screws on and seems to be original. It is hard to find these compasses with the tripod. The compass is approx. 4" diameter and the tripod is approx. 19-1/4" when at shortest and the legs extend another 24" There are scratches and wear but overall decent condition, please see all photos.

WWII US Army engineering surveyor's tripod or Artillery aiming circle tripod
What I have for sale is a very nice. Well taken care of relic of WWII. I think I have here is either an engineer's surveying tripod or an Artillery aiming circle tripod. Not sure on either, but it is a tripod of some sort. The device is made of all wood except for some metal or aluminum fittings. Everything on this device has been painted OD green including a leather strap, though the paint is flaking off on that. The swivel device on top still moves and can be tightened down with a turn screw on the base of the swivel. The legs move freely and there is no splitting. Cracking or any kind of bug damage with the wood. The metal fittings still work though the tightening screws might need some oil or WD-40 on them, they are a little stiff. The compact height is 36 inches and the fully extended length in 57 inches. There is some paint worn ... moreoff in some areas too but its not noticeable. DIetzgen Wooden Survey Transit Tripod wood sticks surveyor's
Here's a quality Dietzgen wooden tripod in really good condition. It is about 36 inches tall folded. And the legs will extend another 24 inches. The only defect I could find was one of the tightening knobs is bent a little bit on one leg but it still works as it should. Some scuffs and scrapes overall but nothing major. Thanks for looking!

Vintage Sokkisha 18254 Transit and Tripod With Plumb Bob Level Surveyor Sokkia
Up for auction is a vintage Sokkisha(present-day Sokkia) transit with the original wood and aluminum tripod and a red plumb bob. I have done my best to take pictures of the important-looking parts of this instrument. But I am not a surveyor and I do not know anything about surveying equipment, so please let me know if there's any part I should include a picture of. The legs all extend to about double the height. I have looked through the lens. And light passes through it, but I do not know how to focus it. Also. The compass does not seem to move, but it could just be locked. Again, I am not sure. Antique Vintage Wood Transit Survey Surveyor Tripod with Antique Surveyor's Rod
Nice looking vintage antique surveyor's tripod and rod. There are no visible markings that identify manufacturer or date on either of these pieces. Both pieces are sold"AS IS" with visible scratches. Dings, chipping, and wear. On visual inspection of the pieces there was found to be more wear on the back side of the surveyor's rod and one of the pins or cleats on the tripod appears to have been replaced at some point(see images) The wooden tripod has approximately 58 inch legs and the rod is extendable from approximately 81 inches to 147 inches.
