I got this Level from my father-in-law who is an architect. We don't know much about it. I've done some research and I also took it out and acquired an object down the street and was able to get a sharp image- even at night. It includes everything pictured. The Serial number is: 518416. I assume it was made sometime in the 1980s. The only issue I noticed with it. Aside from a few minor scuffs and wear marks from it's box, is that the reticle(I'm not sure what else to call this) seems to have a minor blotch towards the bottom- it almost looks like dried condensation or something. As I said, I was still able to look through it and focus the level. I'm sure it could use a clean/check and calibration. What you see is what you get- as-is. This bubble level was designed to slide into the accessory shoe of the early Leica cameras(however it is useable with any Leica of any vintage. All the way up to the M 240 digital Leica) Originally intended for use with the Leitz panorama tripod heads later versions of the bubble levels was to aid taking pictures with ultra wide-angle lenses such as the 21mm Super Angulon or even 15mm. In using ultra wide-angle lenses to avoid converging lines(as in buildings) the lens needs to be held level, not tilted upwards. This bubble level in the accessory shoe helps prevent this problem(by the way this is a problem for any camera, even DSLRs in production today) This particular example was probably made in the early-to-mid 1930's. And today finding a black DOOLU bubble level is quite rare. Leitz produced chrome versions from the mid-1930's ... moreonwards. This particular example has some paint worn, and yet it is completely functional. Over the next week I'll be listing several items from the early 1930's. Leica Rugby 100 Rotary Self-Levelling Laser Level with LaserMark Receiver
This is a Leica Rugby 100 Rotary Laser Level with LaserMark receiver. These are used for general construction purposes for levelling. This is a self-levelling rotary laser that transmits a visible red laser. Unit is in good condition with scuffs. Marks, scratches and wear from normal field usage. The battery compartment is clean with no signs of damage. All glass appears to be in great shape. Case is in fair shape, it's a bit dirty and scratched up, but it serves it's job to keep the laser safe during transit. Case opens and closes properly and both locking clasps hold it shut. I had to drill some holes on the bottom of the case because there was a lot of dirt stuck inside that was difficult to get out. The laser was tested and appears to be working properly. When placed on a level surface it self-levels and within 30 seconds the ... morered laser begins to rotate. Hitting the power button again increases rotation speed. There are additional features that can be activated as well. See user manual link below. The one thing that I did notice about this unit is that if you let it self-level it at large angle, when you re-position it to level grade you will need to power it off/back on for it to self-level properly. It's best to have the unit as close to level as possible(as per the manual) and then power it on so it properly levels itself otherwise the laser may be sloped. There is also a manual grading mode available so you can adjust the slope of the laser as needed using the arrow buttons on the front of the unit. The laser detector was also tested and works. It detects the laser beam and has two displays(front/back) to direct the operator in the proper direction to reach the level state. It comes with a rod/ruler adapter as well, the screw is loose and falls out of the adapter when the laser detector is not mounted. I do not know when this unit was last calibrated. There are calibration instructions in the manual and it appears that this unit can be calibrated by the end user. Batteries are included in both
