My research tells me Carlson Dairy was a large family owned dairy from Denver Co however I was unable to confirm 100% but found no other dairy in the U.S by that name.This pitcher is in my opinion above average collectible condition with no chips. Cracks or breaks moderate crazing to be expected of a piece this age and just a couple small flea bites on the bottom. This piece stands approx. 4 1/2 inches tall. This is a previously owned Stromberg Carlson desk phone- 1980. It has been tested and is in good working condition. I can't get the red light to work- so not sure if it needs a bulb. No chips or cracks. It is fully modular. Just plug into any standard phone jack and start using. Ring is clear and crisp. Receiver has nice clear tone, dials out and receives calls. There are mild usage scratches or scuffs, cord is not stretched out- could possibly use a little more cleaning- but is pretty clean. See the photos. NOTE: This is a vintage 33 year old phone. Cosmetically it's pretty good, though it does have some scratches and dull spots on it. It could probably use some polishing and the phone line it has is pretty long but it has a module thingy connected on the end. I don't know alot about these things so I'm just trying to describe what I'm looking at. I don't think anyone tried to fix this up yet. And that it's a Model 1200 We plugged it in and after a moment or two. It warmed up, and seemed like it wanted to work. It was all static, but we're in a metal building. If we knew more about it, we would probably taken it outside and gotten a station to come in. The reason that this is an AS IS item is because of the following: We did NOT actually get a station to tune in. This may be because of the building we are in. The controls seemed to work properly as well as the volume etc. The power cable is brittle and should be replaced. The insulation on it is cracked in several spots. The desk phone is stromberg carlson the gen crank box has a decal inside door hard to read some of it but this is what it looks to read deal. h. mcnulty dated 8-1936. Looks like all the parts are there unit cranks bell did not ring wood box has been painted white door latch is missing wood box seems solid, phone is in good shape didnt notice any cracks. 1940's Eames Era STROMBERG CARLSON Dynatomic Tube Radio Art Deco Working. Interesting circa 1940's or 1950's Stomberg Carlson tube radio. I know virtually nothing about these tube radios. But purchased this one an the other I also have listed because of their Mid Century Modern appeal. Please ask all questions prior to placing a bid. I will do my best to answer them. The body appears to be Bakelite or something akin to it. I had the unit bench tested by a licensed Technician. And it is in fine original working condition. I've powered it up and listened to it for a short period of time. In a dimly lit setting, it looks really nice with the warm soft glow emitted from the dial and the tubes from inside the chassis shine through what appears to be a translucent body. CO NDITION: Very good original condition. Typical wear commensurate with age. No cracks or chunks missing. A small pencil erasure size blemish on the top arch above the dial. Antique- Original Early 1900's"Stromberg-Carlson" Telephone Mfg. Co. Rochester New York- Heavy Wall Mount- Hand Crank Telephone Model 896 R Approximate size: 19"H x 8 1/2"W x 5 1/4"D- These are the basic measurements of the wood box-not including the pieces that stick out from the sides and front. The telephone earpiece has Stromberg-Carlson on it and there used to be a plate with it on the front as well. It has the original cord/wire still attached to it. The crank is missing on the side. It has hinges at one side. So there must be a way to see inside, but I haven't figured that out. The wood on the outside had old newspaper stuck to it, which is shown in pictures. It looks like the wood is scraped up, but it is the remainder of the newspapers still stuck on it. I removed some of the paper, but not want to ... moreruin the authenticity of the phone by sanding it off. The outside has little bubbles or something from the finish possibly. It almost looks like it was in the sun. It could be sanded down and refinished nicely. It would have a beautiful wood finish when re-done. There is also some dust/dirt in and around the cracks and ear& mouth pieces. This phone is very heavy and was well constructed. All pieces are still connected securely. The sound is excellent. Also. This radio really pulls in the stations. The only issue I can tell is there may be a short that causes intermittent loss of sound. The power cord has been replaced. Stromberg Carlson AWP-8 Shortwave Receiver/Radio
Over 20 years ago. I put this radio in storage. I figured I'd use it someday, and I do recall that it worked when I last tried it in the early 90s. I plugged it in today, after dusting it off, and lo and behold, it picked up an AM station, no problem! A testimony to the quality components that Stromberg-Carlson used back in the 50s, for sure. The retractable power cord winder works. And the antenna is still there and extends as it should. Even the original full Operators Manual is in the pocket in the rear cover! The radio needs a good cleaning. And the cabinet is worn as the pictures show. The linear frequency dials are simply beautiful. The radio does have the hum from older capacitors. I also noticed the tuner knob turns. But the string must be slipping, as the station indicator(cursor) did not move. Here is a video clip of the radio ... moreplaying; I just shot this an hour ago: The radio itself weighs 23 pounds. And its dimensions are 18x12x 9 inches. I plan on using a box aprroximately 22 x 16 x 12" and estimating 26 pounds for UPS shipping(extra) Sold as-is. But as I show on the video, a working one that's worth restoring!
