The box is solid and in very good condition there are no cracks or missing pieces in the oak; the leather strap is broken but all there. The top and bottom of the box have some chips in the veneer. OLD BOSTROM NO 4 BRASS SURVEYORS LEVEL TRANSIT& CASE The brass telescope and level vial are intact however there is a crack in the brass tube holding the level(looks like a stress crack started at the screws holding the level in) It looks like this could be replaced with another piece of brass tubing at the discretion of the new owner. The rotating base holding the telescope is divided into four quadrants at 90 degrees each; the lowest brass band has match marks for 0, 30, and 60 degrees. The middle brass band is marked with the company name. There is a plumb bob, cord, a brass attachment(painted black) for the telescope and an instruction booklet. The set is in“as found” condition.
