My father was a civil engineer in the 1950s. 1960s, 1970s and 1980s and into the 1990s. This was his. I don't know anything about this item. Dad has not worked in more than 20 years and I do not think he used this much at all during his career. So this may need to be calibrated. If it is damaged in any way of course you can return it.
