A very nice pair of vintage handcrafted California pottery wall pockets. They have wildflowers and country roses. A blue bird, a butterfly, and a pretty blue border. They are fully signed by the artist, Provincial Pottery Original by Rosemary Korff California. These hand made planters are in very good clean condition. They appear to have been constructed using the slab technique. They measure 5 1/2" wide by 5" high by 1 7/8" deep. There is overall fine crazing from age and an old flake and small hairline on the back of one. Please look at the pictures! These sweet wall pockets would look great in a summer cottage. MADONNA INN WILD ROSE FENTON WRIGHT WINE GOBLETS SET OF 10 RETIRED COLORS NICE
Here is a beautiful vintage lot of 10 rare Madonna Inn Wild Rose wine goblets. I grew up not too far from the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo. California and I admired these goblets for many years. These goblets were original designs by Alex Madonna and were especially designed to compliment the Wild Rose carpeting in his Steakhouse Dining Room. Over the years different colors and shades of colors were added and retired. This lot is a rare treasure in that there are 10 goblets in different colors, and 7 out of the 10 are retired colors. This lot has a nice selection of shades of blues, pinks, and greens. I would describe the colors as teal, light emerald green, blue topaz, sapphire blue, cobalt blue, aqua, salmon pink, pink, ruby lustre, and clear satin lustre. The cobalt, salmon pink, and clear satin lustre are the only colors that are still ... morebeing made from this lot. If you haven't seen one of their lustre goblets like the ruby lustre, it has an irridescent coating. The clear satin lustre goblet is clear throughout the goblet and features frosted roses and leaves. The weight of these goblets is substantial and the raised relief of the roses and leaves adds a nice dimension and texture. Each stem is hexagon shaped for added detail. On the bottom of each goblet, there are three rosebuds. They measure 5" tall and are approximately 2 1/2" wide across inside the bowl of the goblet. They are in excellent vintage condition and are timeless treasures. If I had a space to display them, I would not part with them, but since I don't, I would like someone else to use them and enjoy them. Rare Colored Akro Agate Black & Clambroth # 293 Ribbed Top Pot / WILD
A vintage and rarely- seen coloration of a large Ribbed Top Pot from the Akro Agate Co of the 1930s in their GENERAL LINE of planters. It measures 3 3/4" across rhe top. And stands 3 7/8" tall. It's fully signed on the bottom with" MADE IN USA/ 293" and the Akro trademark bird emblem. The 3 lighter pictures were made with a flash attachment. But the flash dround out the true colors; the other 4 darker pictures were made in natural light. And do better justice to the pot by showing just how much marbelizing there really is. I've seen only a handful of these black& clambrothy pots. This one is not only the biggest one I've seen. But also THE BEST colored one I've seen. Schumann. KPM, and C.T. china pieces from Germany. The rectangle dish measures 4 inches by 3.25 inches and is in excellent condition-no chips or cracks. The label on the back reads"Bavaria Schumann Arzberg Germany Wild Rose Golden Crown E&R 1886" and the number"20. The saucer plate measures 6 inches in diameter and has a rose and purple flower design. The plate is delicate and lightweight. The label on back is an eagle type bird with C.T. underneath it. Germany is also stamped on the back. No chips or cracks. The sugar bowl measures 6 inches from handle to handle and is 4 inches tall. The bottom has a KPM stamp and Made in Germany ribbon. SCHUMANN WILD ROSE CUP & SAUCER EMBOSSED Floral Gold Trim Pink Blue Excellent
This is a Vintage Embossed Cup and Saucer in the"Wild Rose" Pattern. Produced by the Carl Schumann Porcelain Factory in Arzburg, Bavaria, Germany. The company was established in 1881 and is still producing today. The cup stands 2-3/8" tall and measures 4" across the top. The saucer measures 5-3/4" in diameter. The floral design inside the cup shows wild roses in shades of pink with green and gold leaves and some rust colored leaves which are outlined in applied gold. The outside of the cup contains one small rose with an embossed design encircling the area just below the rim. The overall background color shades from pink to blue. There is a gold band around the rim of the cup. Another around the crimped, scalloped foot and gold covering the thumb rest on the fancy handle. The matching saucer has embossing and a gold ... moreband around the scalloped edge. There are no chips. Cracks, scratches, crazing or discolorations. The colors are unfaded and the gold is lovely and intact. The glazed finish is nice and shiny and both pieces ring nicely when tapped. The Schumann Backstamp appears on the base of both pieces and is pictured. From 1991 to 1999. I sold antiques and collectibles in many large east coast Antique Shows and two Antique Mall Booths in Virginia and Maryland. After returning home to the Pacific Northwest in 1999, I operated a booth and showcase in the Star Antique Mall in Snohomish, Washington for four years before deciding to sell online full time.
