Edith Cockcroft was heavily influenced by Henri Matisse with whom she studied in Paris in 1898. She was born in Brooklyn to wealthy parents and lived in Allendale, New Jersey. In 1898. She went to France where she spent much time in the art colonies of Pont Aven and Concarneau. She exhibited in Paris at the Salon de la Society Nationale des ... moreBeaux Arts and the Salon d'Automme. There is probably no truth to the often repeated story that she was a mistress to Paul Gaughin for, by 1898, he had traveled to the South Seas for the last time. This is a Varian HeliTest model 9693500 helium leak tester. It runs off 12 Volts and has a cigarette power adapter cord to power it. It also includes a battery but does not have a charger included. There is also an extension probe as well as the small probe and some cables. The instruction manual is included as well all in a nice case. The unit powers up and runs through the self tests. Varian Model 325 Cold Trap with ASA flanges - LN2 High Vacuum cryotrap
Varian High Vacuum Model 325 Cold Trap w/ 2 ASA flanges. Four mounting bolts, and two black rubber o-rings as shown in the photographs. Flanges are standard ASA flanges. The ASA flanges are approximately 6 inches in diameter. 1/2 inch thick, with four equally spaced bolt holes in a 4.75 inch circle. The flanges are bored out to approximately 3.3 inches/84mm. They are 2" ASA size. There is a dent on the tip of the spout where the liquid nitrogen is poured in but it is not bad and it won't prevent a funnel from fitting in the spout. I bought this cold trap to use in a home-built high vacuum system but I never got around to building the system. The pictures tell everything I know about the item. Except that I have seen Varian 325 cold traps selling for $850 and $900 on other web sites.
