And cannot find the usual identification numbers I would expect on such an item. Lens is 3 3/8" long and appears to be in fine working order. the original case is 4" long X 1 3/8" in diameter. Vintage SPECTROSCOPE Brass& Iron Reynolds& Branson. Leeds. A very handsome laboratory Spectroscope with prism. And made by Reynolds& Branson, Leeds. Probably dates from around the 1920s or 1930s. It is quite large at approx 7 inches high. And 9.5 inches wide across the feet. It is constructed from solid brass fittings mounted on a cast iron tripod stand, and weighs over 3kg. Scope tubes can be rotated 360 degrees around the table, graduated in degrees, and clamped with large knurled screws. Eyepiece and adjustable collimator slit are adjustable for focus by sliding. Scopes have 2-way adjustment for levelling. Prism(chipped on corners) is clamped with cork pads to a small table that can be independently rotated. This item was originally painted black. But at some point has been stripped and polished. This has revealed some original ... moremanufacturing surface marking in the brasswork. However, as you can see the overall effect is still very pleasing, and this will make a handsome scientific display item for a collection, or maybe even something really unusual for a Steampunk setting. It has not been tested, but have no reason to believe it would not work if a suitable light source was available. Photos are taken in natural daylight of the actual item for sale. Complete system control is achieved via an industrial-standard personal PC using advanced graphical AA software. The high throughput optical system of the 4100 ZL is designed for maximum analytical performance with the graphite furnace. The use of a longitudinally AC Zeeman system provides exceptional correction accuracy by maintaining the high energy throughput by eliminating the need for a polarizer or other energy-reducing components in the optical system. A transversely heated graphite atomizer(THGA) with an integrated platform provides uniform temperature over the entire graphite tube strongly reducing memory and carry-over by condensation effects.
