1933 Century of Progress Dirigold Iced Tea Spoon/Stirrer
Dirigold iced tea/drink spoon/mixer. An official souvenir of the 1933"A Century of Progress" Exposition and fair. This spoon was manufactured by the Green Duck Co. of Chicago, and the actual manufacturing was probably done in Kokomo, Indiana. Dirigold was invented in Sweden, and was made in America in the early 1900s, eventually coming to Chicago. The bronze alloy contained no gold, and the name was later changed to Dirilyte to allay confusion over the lasting gold color. The company later moved to Hernando, MS. The spoon is approximately 8.25" in length, and there is some discoloration due to age. I have not polished the spoon. Questions are welcomed. An uncommon souvenir from the spectacular art deco exposition. No returns, please.
